Before you send your children out trick or treating, watch this special report! It could save lives! Wait...what day is it? *winces, drawing in air through gritted teeth* Awkward. Um, well it really was common sense anyway. It's a parent's job to teach their children to avoid zombies, monsters, and improptu medical examinations on Halloween night. I'm sure your remaining children will be much more prepared next year.]]> http://kotaku.com/index.php?op=postcommentfeed&postId=317668&view=rss&microfeed=true <![CDATA[Renegade Kid's Next Mauled By Mastiff]]> bigdogimage.jpgI never thought there could be a pee-your-pants scary game on the Nintendo DS, but Renegade Kid's Dementium: The Ward has changed all of that, and in doing so they've drawn the attention of some pretty big dogs. As Dementium heads to retail store shelves across the country, game publisher Mastiff announces a deal to publish Renegade Kid's next DS title, code named Project M.
"Renegade Kid has proven that the DS is not just a platform for kiddie games," said Bill Swartz, Head Woof of Mastiff. "With skillful use of audio and controls, the developer created a truly creepy experience in Dementium: The Ward. We've seen enough of their latest project to know that they have much more in store."
While Project M naturally has me extremely curious, the real question here is "Does Mastiff really have an official Head Woof position?" Inquiring minds want to know. I want to know.

<![CDATA[Gamecock Double Dates Fury And Dementium]]> And so the saga of Gamecock reaches fruition, as the publisher known so far for its lavish parties and devastating marches readies itself for the money shot. They've just announced the release dates for their first two games, both of which hit in October. Auran's PvP MMO Fury is slated to hit store shelves on the 9th, while Renegade Kid's survival horror FPS for the Nintendo DS has gone the way of so many horror titles before it, hitting store shelves on Halloween.

"It's been a blast getting Gamecock off the ground, but it's even more exciting to have our first two games coming out this October," said Mike Wilson, Grand Champeen of Gamecock. "These games showcase what developers - given the freedom to create - can accomplish. Both Auran and Renegade Kid are visionaries, and have stayed true to creating games that are fresh and that keep your adrenaline pumping."
Looking forward to finally getting my hands on some Gamecock. Um.

<![CDATA[Dementium: The Ward]]>
Renegade Kid's Dementium: The Ward looks to be another solid entry in the Gamecock published library, bringing some much needed hospital horror to the Nintendo DS. Don't let this jarring trailer of the game in motion for the first time fool you, it's not adding motion control to the DS—that's what we call, in the business, dramatic effect. In lieu of Silent Hill DS, I'll gladly take Dementium.
