man.. i know that lots of companies have gone from making "traditional" games on the other consoles and even the gamecube to making mini game compilations on the wii.. but this is hudson here. the small time former console co-developer that never made big budget, theatrical games. they always made arcade quality games.. theyve made plenty of compilations since the demise of their console business. theyve made the mario party series, they worked on fuzion frenzy... so they havent done anything different with deca sports. i like hudson a lot, and have been a big fan since the turbo grafx 16.. i played a demo of this.. and there were a couple of games that had that hardcore competitive feeling to them. based upon that, i picked it up.. and although over half of the games are garbage.. those few that i enjoyed are more than worth it. i bet 75% of you kids talkin trash havent even seen the game in action.
it's actually not a very bad game if you've actually played it. It's similar to WiiSports but doesn't limit itself to simpler controls for the sake of accessibility which is a good/bad thing depending on who you are.
So is it official now that when developing as a dev, no matter how good the game may be, it will never sell as well as the always mediocre excercising "games" on the wii, if you can really call them that? why do people buy video game consoles to pseudo-excercise?
@Zorantor: imo, this is true for any console. games that are just okay to me usually sell loads over games that are awesome. its called taste.. army of two was pretty lame to me.. and it sold a couple million.. yet something awesome to me like battle fantasia hardly sold anything.
Why is it that Kotaku only reports Wii news that inevitably leads to trolling, bashing, etc.? C'mon, nobody here will have anything positive to say about this.
