Well at least you guys tried harder than Gizmodo at the blog relevancy. Although when someone as Super Huge and influential as Michel Jackson dies I don't think you should have to strain to make the news relevant to your blog's main directive.
Also: didn't know about the Sonic 3 bit! I learned something new. Man that, linked w/ Sonic and Knuckles, was probably the last Stellar sonic game made w/ the Sonic Adventure Series a runner up.
We lost a great, great talent today.
hold on, (I was just about to hit submit when I thought of this) What's gonna happen w/ The Beatles RockBand now? Will the remaining Beatles regain song rights, or does MJ's family keep 'em?
@ReynaldoRiv: This is hardly straining to make him relevant. You're quite ignorant of Michael Jackson's long history with Sega. Beyond just his history with the industry at large, his demise also taints the rumors of a new Space Channel 5 game, at least one which would feature him as did the first two.
@Jindrich Schelfhout: I completely agree. Show some respect people, the King is dead. At the very least, have some decency to try to stay classy? Please?
Ok, I'm going to state that this man's career and impact on music is legendary and he was a great artist. Everyone talks about how it's such a sad day. Sad day? That this man passed away in his billion dollar estate after having a great career and getting away with molesting a child? How about the kid that doesn't make the walk home after school? Or the parents that are snuffed out in a car accident? All I'm saying is there is nothing to be sad about. The man had a great life, sometimes better than he deserved.

@Killswitch740: some people actually dont believe he molested anyone.. think about it..
his dad would beat his brothers if michael messed up in rehearsals.. dude didnt have a childhood. so in his eyes, he literally viewed the kids as friends. man.. if you had kids and they stayed at the house of a mega millionaire.. dont tell me it wouldnt cross your mind (that is if you were no good) to get some money out of him.. its too easy.
@shouryuuken: I'd agree with you on the let's try to get money out of the rich guy scheme on the 2nd time he was brought up on child molestation charges. But the first time he was brought up on those charges he paid off the kid and the family and they dropped the case. The fact is that when you have that much money and you have to pay someone off to keep their mouth shut you obviously did something wrong. Listen, I know M.J. didn't have the best childhood and everything and it wasn't my intention to offend anyone, but I'm simply stating that I don't think that a bunch of records and money make anyone's life anymore important or valuable then anyone else's. Everyone is talking about how sad it is, I'm just saying that seeing as none of us knew him personally that's there's no reason to be sad, the man lived and had a better life than me, you, or anyone else on these boards will ever had.
Btw, I appreciate you being civil and not jumping straight to the insults. It's hard to find people like that around.

@XHandxBananaX43: oh no i wasnt saying you were being rude.. just showing the other view out there. i had no reason to jump on you because its not like you simply stated a view without saying anything ridiculous or rude.
but as fanboyish: said.. i had read or heard that jackson really did have mental issues to the point that he was like a big child. it happens to lots of child stars... anybody that goes through that rarely ends up normal. but yeah, they were messing up michaels public image.. so yeah.. paying them to stop it.. giving them what they wanted (if they were indeed lying) would be the best choice. he'd have spent more money going through years of court with them probably. also, if it really is true that he had mentally regressed to the thought of a child, he was probably being encouraged to just give them money and go on with it.
also, about him having a better life than anyone on kotaku.. i doubt it. he may have had better MONEY than us, but im glad that i got to have friends as a child and that my dad didnt beat me.. or sneak into my window with a mask and scare me to teach me not to leave the window open. i understand people being upset about it and saying its a sad day because when youve been exposed to someone your entire life. i mean, my is only like 3 or 4 years younger than him, and she grew up listening to his music.. she was a huge fan. screamed when he came on tv, had his records and whatnot.. so itd only make sense shed be affected by these whether she knew him or not. i didnt react to him like that, but he had some songs i liked, and some things are passed on from generation to generation. this news saddened me because i knew my mom would be really upset.
lastly, death is sad no matter who it is (unless its scum that we know is scum for a fact like hitler or something). so yeah.. if just some random guy died that we all at least KNEW OF.. i wouldnt find it funny to make jokes about it at any time. i dont like making jokes about death, no matter whos involved.
