    Demo Dead Space For Thanksgiving

EA wants to give gamers a few new things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Things like plasma cutters, stasis packs, and a plentiful air supply, to name a few. Just in time for the holiday, EA's space horror shooter will be making it's demo debut on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on Wednesday, November 26th. European PS3 owners should have access to the demo on the 27th, while us yanks are all busy giving thanks for them dropping us off over here in the first place. More »

Dead Space Upgrade Packs Are Scary Too

Just when we thought the horror was over and we could go back to playing games that were more colorful and less deadly, EA goes and announces Premium Upgrade Packs for their new survival horror franchise Dead Space, delivering a brand-new sort of terror to the series - useless, cosmetic upgrades...for a price! Now to be fair, some of the upgrade packs do add functionality to the weapons and armor in Dead Space, such as the Heavy Damage Pack that adds a new look and increased firepower to several of the game's weapons, but at the same time we get the Hot Rod Pack, which lets us pay a dollar for flame graphics for the flamethrower and pulse rifle. The only difference between that and horse armor is the horse armor cost a bit more. More »

Dead Space Review: True Stories Of Space Horror

Space is a frightening place, even without the monsters; a soundless, airless void where nothing can survive. Even in the most well-fortified spaceship, you're still moments away from death. Science fiction movies and novels have explored this primal fear on numerous occasions, with classics films like Alien capitalizing on the fact that the only thing more hopeless than being trapped with unidentified flesh-hungry creatures is to be trapped with them millions of light-years away from home. Dead Space, Army Of Two, Battlefield: Bad Company Sequels Planned, Sun To Rise

According to EA Games president Frank Gibeau and EA Redwood Shores general manager Glen Schofield, EA is planning on producing sequels to recent hits Army of Two, Battlefield: Bad Company and Dead Space. We'll agree that it's about as shocking as finding one's nose still attached to one's face, but it illustrates just how important original intellectual property is to the company. That's why they've been doing all that brand building recently, y'know. More »

All The Ways To Die In Dead Space

This here is a video compilation of all the death sequences found in Dead Space. The majority of them are decapitations or involve several limbs being chopped off. However, there are some pretty creative ones as well, particularly the sequence starting at 3:28 (which is also my favorite). Be warned though, this video does contain spoilers from boss fights, so you may want to wait until you complete the game. To be on the safe side, I put the video after the jump. Dead Space Team Studied Car Wreck Victims

EA Redwood Shores wanted to get the carnage right in Dead Space, and like less gruesome subjects, it can be difficult to illustrate something you've never seen. Frankenreview: Dead Space

Dead Space comic books. Dead Space animated films. Electronic Arts' marketing push behind their new survival horror IP has been nothing short of epic. To put this much faith in an untested product, EA must be pretty sure they've got something special on their hands, but then again parents often think their children are much more attractive and intelligent than they actually are. It takes an unbiased outsider to tell you if your baby is hot or not, and that's where the game critics come in. Hit the jump to see if Dead Space is the terrifying little darling that EA hoped for or just another ugly baby. More »
