C'mon, you don't need to write "Metal Gear Solid 4 Voice Actor" on Kotaku! I'm sure "David Hayter" would've been enough for the rabble, low-lives and rejects who read this website. :)
@Murderdolls: Actually, way more than that. I watched someone play through it and then I played through it myself. I liked it the first time but by the end of the second I just traded it in. When you say it has 90 minutes of cutscene what you mean is one of the cutscenes is 90 minutes long, and that's only one of them.
@SsLordMagus: i actually skipped every cutscene in the game, but i didn't play part 2 or 3 (my gamecube days), so i wasn't really into the storyline. i still thought the game was awesome though.
@PhageLab: X-Men was pretty good, and X-Men 2 wasn't as classic, but still not bad at all. X-Men 3 however, is utter shite, and wasn't written by Hayter.
Hayter also wrote the original drafts for Watchmen, which were subsequently twisted a bit by Alex whateverhisnameis. Also mind, Watchmen was a bit broken not because of the script- but definately because of the editing and (in only some cases) direction.
@ulix: so you're being sarcastic and spelled disprove on purpose? and used "then" in the wrong context? i hope so! i know i'm smart because of the gold star by my name! ;) X-Men movies stink!
I would at least hope he, and Kojima, are involved in the movie. Whether or not Hayter does all/most of the writing is kinda secondary to me as long as the movie is done well.
They should be starting with Big Boss in Metal Gear, though. Save MGS for sequels.
In any case, I'd love to see what Hayter would do with Metal Gear, but he's not doing it with Metal Gear, he's doing it with Metal Gear Solid. Mistake #1. These games started in '87, not '98. Remember that.
I think he's a competent screenwriter, though, and has respect for the series even if he is only vaguely familiar with its origins...
@bobtheduck: For the record, if Hayter could stay 100% faithful to the plot without being 100% faithful to the DIALOGUE, I'd love it. Most of those conversations could be cut to about 1/5 of what they are.
@will52: why dont they make a video game based movie in 3d game graphics for once? like advent children and that RE4 movie? i havent seen the RE4 movie, but advent children was cool.
Hm, seems that Watchmen might be turning some pages in the backlots of Hollywood. I really hope David gets to work on the MGS movie; as it's been stated, there's nobody out there who gets MGS to the level he does, and there's definitely nobody out there who gets it well enough to make a movie about it.
this is ridiculously offpoint, but i was lucky to get killzone 2 prior to release and have blasted through at least one third of the campaign and i must say the dev. team have really poured eth into this game, it really did blast me away i play nearly every hyped title on the market and the expectations for this were high and i really beleive it surpasses eth expected its polished to perfection from gameplay to AI ,from graphics to variety, This game is the only game where i have felt the development team surpassed kojima productions !!!!!! mgs 4 was prolly the best game i ever played but the story helped it take that place but its definetly on a par with killzone in terms of presentation and gameplay !! KZ2 is the best shooter i ve played yet !!
@Samer Mahran: yes, it is very off topic, and whats worse is that you used no fucking periods!!!!!!! i do hope to get killzone when it comes out, but this isnt the article for it. plus, USE PERIODS.

It's a double edged sword. You have to watch to get the plot down, but you don't wanna watch 90 minutes of cut scene just so you can play.
Argh, my only gripe with the awesome Metal Gear Series. I still love it though, I'm a sucker for pain and pleasure...

Well you listen to them the first time but then the times after you just skip.
