last time i played lost wind, i dont recall using motion control for anything!!!. But i do remember using the IR sensor on my wiimote. You know, to move the spirit and create my jumping paths.
lol this game sucks. halo 3 has like 20 weapons but this game has only 0. true other qaulity product titles like madden dont have guns but the progatonists employ and use muscles to overpower the enemy. motion control is gimmicky
LostWinds is not a game that could work nicely with Natal. It simply isn't. See, one of the things that makes LostWinds distinct is that you are essentially controlling two characters at the same time, one with the Wiimote, the other with the Nunchuk; one through motion controls, the other through analog controls. The difference in control scheme and the separation into what is almost two different controllers is part of the reason the original was so awesome.
So unless you used a controller in conjunction with Natal, which seems kind of awkward because both your hands would then be pinned to the controller and not waving around or anything, there doesn't seem to be a simple control scheme for moving both characters using Natal.
As for Sony's motion control bit, the same may apply but I don't know enough about their setup to say with any kind of accuracy.
That's not to say that they couldn't bring something similar to those different systems, but LostWinds? Nah.
@XVLN: Yup, really. I might play my PS3 more (WipEout HD), but that doesn't mean I neglect my Wii (Klonoa).
And besides my mom playing one game of Wii Sports (back when I just got it) and watching me play Beatles: Rock Band, she's never paid any attention to it. Just like every other console that came before it.
Ok, I live in Montreal and didn't even hear anything about this happening - happens every year! It seems odd that there isn't a massive spectacle-like show in this city, what with the largest development studio in the world here (Ubisoft 10,000+ persons)

Let me just take two sentences from your article here and put them side by side:
"Lostwinds is pretty great, but because it's only available on WiiWare, many people are - for whatever reason - ignoring it."
Then:
"The very fact that we're doing this sequel shows it's been successful."
People aren't ignoring this title, you just need to get off this "Wii is for non-gamers" bullshit.

Maybe you need to get off the "other people think Wii is for non-gamers" bullshit?

Also, Braben's quote is not a reply to this "viewpoint", it's actually an elaboration on why Lost Winds might indeed make it to other consoles.
