After you've been working in a cubicle for a few years Dilbert goes from somewhat amusing to Big Brother frightening. There are times I'm certain that Scott Adams has a spy camera situated just above my desk. #dashboardupdate
Is that video loading that fast on your noted crummy Internet connection, or is this connection post-move? It's not full screen, but that's coming up quite fast. #dashboardupdate
@NoBullet: It's a gaming console. I turn it on to play games, or to find things related to games. I have a PC, on my PC I can get things related directly to my interests, instead of wading through force-fed offerings that I, probably, don't give a shit about. #dashboardupdate
@MrBionic: By that logic Blu-Ray, Linux, or Netflix negates the PS3 and spread sheet and other assorted software negates a PC's entertainment use. Nothing which adds to the feature set is worth complaining about when it does nothing to detract from you look to do with a particular machine. #dashboardupdate
@Ivan Crespo: Nice edit. I guess you figured out that I wasn't *complaining* about it, I was merely expressing my gladness that it wasn't there. If it was there, then meh, whatever, I'd live with it. I live with a lot of the bullshit that IS on there. #dashboardupdate
@Kobun: Actually, it kind of does in my world. I enjoy having separate things for separate uses, but that's just me. I never said anything about stuff being on the system NEGATING the system though, did I? #dashboardupdate
Fuck me, I'm suddenly glad I DON'T get US XBL stuff.

I'd say you're definitely acting as though it's going to negatively impact your ability to play games on the thing. You won't have to wade through anything as they're all buried under the appropriate (and currently existing) tabs. If that's still too much, you could always set the console to boot the game when turned on. I myself am not much of a fan of the latest additions, but I don't see why they're so rage inducing for some people. #dashboardupdate
@Kobun: It's most likely a generational gap. I see no reason for a game console to be anything but a game console. I put up with it, but it cheeses me at the same time, and yes, it can be annoying as all get out to go from My XBox to Friends and have to flip through redundant and useless tabs to get there. It's a small annoyance, but it's an annoyance nontheless. I don't set it up to boot into the game, because most of the time, I check to see who's playing what before I decide what to play. #dashboardupdate
@MrBionic: I removed my comment cause I realized I stopped posting on here (kotaku) because I dont think the "promoting of comments" system should be in effect. But look, you got me to reply.
My original comment in all its sarcasm, that nothing is being forced on you, since you simply do not have to look at it stands. Force fed implies the person receiving does not want and is being forced to consume, you simply do not have to look at it, you are not being forced to do anything. Its like complaining there are news websites on the internet, I mean they just force feed that content to you in the same manner right? Simply have an option to go look at something must be forcing it on you? I mean I only have the internet for gaming related items, and OMG there is news and serious stuff on there too!!?!?!
@Ivan Crespo: You know, melodrama is kind of my 'thing', so it is what it is. I'm not sure why some people want to always take it so personally, but then, you seem like the kind of person that is over-sensitive to silly things to begin with :D #dashboardupdate
@NeonLight: I've been collecting The Complete Peanuts. If you love Peanuts, you need this set. 25 volumes over 12 years. We're 12 volumes in right now, with the last 13 to come over the next 7 years. #dashboardupdate
@Demonbird: Biases aside, I guess I'd pick MSNBC as the best choice right now. I'm not a big fan of Fox News or their commentators, and CNN has become progressively dumber over the years - they're a long way from their glory days of Desert Storm. MSNBC isn't perfect either, but unless Microsoft decides to carry the BBC as well, it's the best we'll get.
That said, I don't see any sign of Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, or any of their other commentators in the clips. It looks like this is the "news" part of MSNBC. #dashboardupdate
@spiderweb1986: MSNBC is the best marketable pick. I'd love to have streaming NPR and episodes of NewsHour with Jim Leher, but the mainstream market wouldn't care nor know what those are. : ( #dashboardupdate
@Kobun: I do. I love both of those. Jim Leher is awesome. Not sure how old he is but he hasn't changed much. He's a great moderator to a mostly respectable debate on the intricacies of each issue. #dashboardupdate
Man Dilbert. I remember watching that show as a kid thinking 'oh its so cool' then I realised it wasn't funny. God I hated that show.
Comic's alright. #dashboardupdate
@OMG! Ponies!: They should take the neutral approach and just go with CNN, they let spinsters on either side waste our time until Rick Sanchez calls them on it! I love that crazy bastard, ever see him tear apart Joe the fake PLumber
@GtheMVP99: Considering that CNN has been coming in last among the cable news networks (and I'm counting propaganda mill FOXNews as a cable news network), I don't think Redmond wants to hitch their wagon to that kind of mediocrity.
Of course, the "thought" that went into bringing Dilbert and New Yorker cartoons is baffling, but the MSNBC get does pave the way to bring other providers on board.
Slowly but surely, Microsoft finally is making a living room all-in-one a mainstream reality. #dashboardupdate
I don't spend alot of time in the dashboard so I was not aware they even had these mini-games in there.
What the heck happened to 1 vs. 100 anyway? It was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread and then it just kind of disappeared and I haven't heard anything about it in a while. #dashboardupdate
@JustJake: It was supposed to be seasonal from the start, but I agree that it disappeared without a peep. I myself think the beta just went on for far too long, and people tired of playing the neutered, prize-less version of the show. #dashboardupdate
@Kobun: uh they gave out prizes on the Fri. & Sat. night versions of the show, I know because i sat in disbelief as my wife won 1200 MS points and a Live arcade game the first night she played after i had been playing for a month with nothing won.
I'm pretty sure the beta was 13 weeks just like the seasons will be when it comes back. #dashboardupdate
@Kobun: @JustJake: Actually, it made a ruckus before it left. Without spending time on the Dashboard, you wouldn't have known, but it's slated to come back for Season 2 (and apparently out of Beta) soon. #dashboardupdate
@CowboyKill3r: @Americo: @MegaMetaTurtle: I know it gave up prizes. I'm specifically referring to the beta itself which was incredibly long compared to the active airing of the real contest. The number of beta and extended beta games grossly dwarf the first season of 1 vs. 100. I think people got fatigued -- at the very least, I did. #dashboardupdate
@Kobun: It's still in beta. They had prizes in the end of the Season 1 beta. Season 2 is actually more beta but with better prizes, a new look and achievements :P #dashboardupdate
@PkChris: Really? I thought it was out of beta once it started awarding real prizes, though I know a couple of the latter test runs did. I know the graphics had that "BETA" banner removed for the "real" episodes, so hearing it was still considered a beta up through the last show is surprising. #dashboardupdate
Riveting... what happened to 1 vs 100? That was an example of much more exciting avatar content. What happened to all that prime time stuff? #dashboardupdate
1 vs 100 just wrapped up its very successful first season (yes, it runs in actual seasons)..with the second to start in a few months I think. #dashboardupdate
@InsidiousTuna: Yeah and the dunk tank was fun for 30 seconds at the most so I can't imagine this being all that fun. My question then is why? what is the point of these? #dashboardupdate

The Garfield cartoon was great. I liked Dilbert too, so I'm forced to conclude that your sense of humor is awful and you're a bad person.
I jest, of course. Besides, we can all be glad that we aren't getting this, or Cathy or Marmaduke in animated form.
