It was a good game, it is not like any of the current MMOs out right now, this is more of a realistic version, when you die you lose ALL your equipment for example.
Anyone who started playing MMOs with Ultima Online or Everquest will most likely enjoy the game.. if your first MMO was WoW, stay far away.
And 50 bucks is nothing.. get a job you damn bums

Or, charge a decent chunk of change to avoid the scenario described above and face the ire of would-be customers who balk at the price.
MMOs are definitely a lot trickier to manage from a business end than traditional games.

If the business model is to only cater too a small group of hardcore fans then perhaps this is the best move. However, from my limited understanding of MMO marketing, the name of the game is enrollment and trying to get as many people as you can.

Darkfall gives players back the experience of good MMORPG games such as Asheron's Call and Ultima Online, where there was player consequence, and reward based on risk.
We've all spent money on a big name games getting significantly less features than promised ( AOC, WAR, and there are more )
not to mention the lack of innovation in those carbon copies. I think for something this unique its price point isn't that far off something similar in that genre.
I've been playing it for months , its come a long way now, and if your looking for an excellent competitive online game this is definitely not one to miss.

@Lincolnsbeard33: Yes, but that's after they had you hooked. Call it a a gateway drug where you work from that into the harder, more harmful stuff like E (xpansions) ;p

And last I hear, people will be able to import their characters from Europe to the US... so essentially in a world where PVP is king and you can be looted... you will be looted. A lot.
