In the game, players will be investigating the seedy side of Las Vegas (does it have a non-seedy side?) and will receive help and clues from the in-game characters in the form of real cell phone messages. From the press release:

Your cellphone rings, and a detective calls you to the scene — just like a real CSI detective. This combination of game play with popular content and a whole new level of interactivity represent enormous entertainment and business potential for the mobile world.

It sounds like a pretty cool gimmick actually and leaves me wondering if this might tie in somehow with the mysterious cell phone I received yesterday...

<![CDATA[CSI: Second Life]]> Next week's (Oct. 24th) episode of CSI: New York sees Gary Sinise's character pursue a suspect into a place that could drive even the most hard-nosed detective mad: Second Life. Teaming up with virtual content creators The Electric Sheep Company, special areas were created within SL for Mac Taylor's avatar to investigate, which will be carried over into the CSI: NY Virtual Experience, allowing fans of the show to create avatars and solve crimes of their own, leading up to the second part of the episode that will air February 6th. Electric Sheep are even creating a special, easier-to-use interface for Second Life so less computer savvy fans of the show have a chance at getting anything done in the game whatsoever. Virtual worlds are getting a lot of crime show attention lately. A few weeks back Law and Order: SVU featured a Second Life lookalike program in the episode 'Avatar'.

<![CDATA[New CSI Title Coming to PC]]> csimugs.jpg

You know, I really like the TV show CSI, but the video games just keep continuing to suck. Let s hope this latest attempt at improving the franchise succeeds. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: 3 Dimensions of Murder will take place in Vegas and improves upon the successful core design concepts of previous CSI games. No God, nooooooooooooooooooo!

The title is due out next Spring. I can hardly wait.
