For all you San Francisco Bay Area Final Fantasy fans out there, Square Enix will be holding a Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII launch party at the Sony Metreon Center. The event will take place next Tuesday, March 25 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM and will celebrate the history of Final Fantasy VII as well as the launch of Crisis Core. The first 100 people in line will get a commemorative T-shirt as well as be eligible for some raffle prizes. Shinra company ID cards will also be made at the event that will sport your name and photograph. Only 200 people will be allowed to attend so be sure to get there early!
Ah, where would we be without user uploaded movies. GameTrailers user Fly Guy has posted the opening cinematic for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII the upcoming pre-quel to Final Fantasy VII. The footage looks pretty nice and I have to say the guys are not quite as girly as they usually seem. This new game utilizes the same urban grittiness that originally set Final Fantasy VII apart from other entries in the series. The game is set to release on Japanese PSPs September 3rd with the U.S. version expected sometime next year.

Finally something solid on on the PSP Final Fantasy VII game, Crisis Core! Up until now all we've known is that it focuses mainly on Cloud's SOLDIER buddy Zack and would take place before the events of FFVII...obviously, since Zack died before the game started. Now Squeenix delivers the goods with its 2006 TGS trailer.
Looks like an action/turn-based hybrid in the Tales series style. Interesting. Ahhh, there's Sephiroth. I'm looking forward to a whole new crop of Seph/Zack yaoi fanart once the game hits the States. If this doesn't launch PSP sales into the stratosphere, nothing will. Michael FaheyMore »

Yes, that is Gackt in the trailer. He's been a personality in the Final Fantasy games since FF8. Sqeenix almost got sued by him for using his likeness for Squall from FF8. So they used his likeness again in more »
