Sprite Stitch

I can always count on Alice over at Wonderland (and occasionally here at Kotaku) to dig up the best of the best of gaming crafts and this one is no different. We've featured a number of gaming cross stitch pieces here but now someone has gone so far as to create a blog dedicated to the subject called Sprite Stitch. And not only do they post the cross stitch creations themselves, but you can even download the patterns so you can sit on your lazy butt and make them yourself! They don't have too much there now, but definitely worth a look see and clicks in the future.

The Ms. Pac-Man Necklace

Etsy does it again! Artist SparkleMe created this cute Ms. Pac Man necklace and put it up for sale on the craftster website not too long ago. Of course it didn't last long and sold almost immediately (these things always do), so if you were hoping to pick this up for your loved one or maybe yourself, I'm afraid you've missed the boat. Aeropause's Eric Munn already snapped up this beauty for his lovely wife. Sorry, maybe next time.

The Tetris Cart Clock

I love Etsy. They always come through with some of the greatest home made gaming crafts. This little Tetris cart clock sold for a measly $18, but if you have a little time and knowhow, you could easily make one yourself. All you need is an old Nintendo cart, a drill, some inexpensive clockworks (available at almost any store with craft supplies), a plastic stand and some glue. I've actually made a few clocks in my time (just ask any of my friends about Christmas 2002) and they are incredibly easy and cheap to put together and the results are always great. Try it, you may like it.

BioShock Excitement Leads to Wood Work

People have different ways of showing excitement. Some pace around nervously, some talk incessantly and arty Travis makes stuff. He is so jazzed about the upcoming BioShock that he created this machine carved plaque. He writes:

I ended up making two of these, although I have almost NO experience with sanding and finishing an' whatnot. The first one is attractively on display at the Irrational HQ, and the Dev team was awesome enough to sign this one for me.

Irrational, send this man a free copy of the game!

Real Paper Super Mario

In between going to Malaysia and getting his wisdom teeth out, crafty Timothy Boettcher created this World 7-3 Super Mario paper-craft. He blogs:

My original focus was on accurately recreating a scene from the level to scale rather than model complexity.

He ended up giving the model a more 3D feel, which works nicely. And he's even got PDFs up for you to download and create your own. How thoughtful.

Pac-y Easter!

Awesome! Check out Rakka's Pac-Man egg that was painstakingly carved with a needle! It also features extensive electrical work and emits light at 2000 candlepower and makes its own gravy! Okay, most of that was made up, but lookit how cute! More »
