    The question before it launched was "do we really need another DS?) The piechart says "yes." There was a time I when I would be happy for Nintendo for having this kind of success. Now, I'm not so sure.

    "sigh" can we just get a Nintendo portable that's basically a mini Gamecube? I think I've about had it with the DS.

    So many closely related things on the pie these days that I kind of wish we had some color coding going on. All the Nintendo stuff could be shades of blue... all the Sony stuff could be shades of red... etc. It would make reading the pie easier for general corporate domination, at least for me.

    Its just kind of irritating having the PS3 and the DS LL be such close colors in the weird OCD of my mind.

    @Michael McWhertor: The revised pie chart should have each slice represented by ACTUAL pies.

    The DS could be cheesecake, the Wii is blueberry, the PSP is blackberry, the PS3 is cherry, the PS2 is a pop tart and the 360 is key lime.

    @Demonbird: Seriously, I don't get the DSi, it has little to compatibility with the Wii.. I'm thinking on terms of VC, which is awesome. I've seen no reason to "upgrade" from my DS lite.. But I would believe that the jump from DS to DS lite was necessary.

    This is the exact same thing as the DSi in a larger package. I don't see how that counts as a revision, unless we're going to begin considering every minor change to a console or handheld a full-scale revision.

    People were even posting on here how excited they would be to get one due to a larger screen or having it be more comfortable for their hands.
    I've seen a few people who bought a ds on launch, then a lite, then a dsi, and will probably buy this, just cause they do.

    And unfortunately, any change is really still a revision. PSP 3000 barely changed a thing and that's a revision.

    @Golgari: well compare the user base for PS3 with the mass of people who want FF13....i just estimate PS3 smaller than FF13, so it'll sell like crazy, for at least 2 weeks.

    @ibunkun: you saw Wii Install base in Japan? Wii install base almost 3x larger then PS3 install base, thats almost 9 million!!! Install base and in its first week of Final Fantasy Wii game sold around 35000 copies while PSP version of piece of crap soccer sold like 85000.

    how you expect big sales with Final Fantasy XIII in Japan if they have 3.5-5.9 million install base on PS3 not to mention that with Wii install base Final Fantasy Wii sold for 35000 copies in its first week. Makes no sense.

    @dd528: Absolutely true, but does average-stupid-consumer recognize a difference? I don't think so. Yes, you are hardcore gamer and you know what the REAL Final Fantasy sequel is. but average cosumer don't care while he can buy Wii and play other game with franchise name of it like Final Fantasy.

    So i think Final Fantasy will sell only preorder and who want it already preordered it.

    @Golgari: i am not talking how good a game will sell, for what is FF game are a given...i mean, history shows that every FF game for sony selled like hot cakes. what i wanted to bring up was the cross selling effects of games. take Gundam for example , Gundam is the money making franchise (like hello kitty,neon genesis evangelion and cute girl anime/manga girls ) i think, you can sell everything with it. a gundam game sells also consoles,wether portable or home based (remember gundam musou and the PSP games). so if anyone without a PS system (2,3 or P/Go) wants it buys the machine. just to wanted it to transfer to FF13. a small PS3 user base means, that everyone who really wants FF13 will buy a PS3. i really cant comment on wii, though i know too they have a huge userbase. can't say why FF CC crystal bearers sold so little. maybe to less marketing or media presence? dont know the sales figures of the past titles for GC,DS either.
