    Where´s Brazil on that list? Brazil is king when it comes to piracy because it´s also king on low wages and king on absurd taxes and high prices. A "next gen" (counting Wii) game here costs almost 150 dollars. I´m fucking serious.

    Yes, since piracy is the fault of the government. It's going to well combating it here in Sweden.

    Pirates are not at all market-leaders in spreading wares.

    Demonizing the populous is the superior way of handling it all.

    @SG79: I can't believe they let the shops in Pacific Mall (Toronto) stay open. They fine them $500 every couple of years for selling bootleg games and DVDs, close them down for a week and a half, and that is it.


    Why go after Bittorrent/P2P? Why not target people that are actually profiting from piracy?

    Is this really something to take a stand for? I completely agree that the Canadian government should be doing more to combat piracy (all forms).


    9 years ago, some shops kept a few original copies of movies and games to keep things under wraps. Nowadays, you can walk into the same shops (Pacific Mall in TO anyone?) and find hundreds of pirated movies out in the open.

    @SG79: No I completely agree with combating piracy. Just not the way the "Congressional International Anti-Piracy Caucus" would like us to. I'm sure they'd love us to adopt their dated anti-piracy laws, but we need to be a little independent and come up with laws that are a bit more with the times.


    Yeah Pacific Mall is pretty bad, been a few busts down there too.

    I just remember a few years back that a coworker from buffalo was so surprised when she saw milk bags. Never realized that the US didn't have them.

    @Masonvrocks: We do say 'eh'. And we do say 'about' with varying degrees of difference to our neighbours down South. Then again, the same could be said even between different Canadian cities too.


    Ever hear a New Yorker say 'about'? I guarantee you it does not sound how any Canadian would say it.


    But our country is still glorious. XD

    @Demonbird: Moving the entire pirate-army there was truly a stroke of genius. Operations are already back on track and we expect an increase in productivity with almost 18% by the end of the fiscal year.
