"Wanna play a game? I've injected your console with a virus that will erase all of your data. The only way to save your data is to win the game, or destroy it. To your left, you will see a powerless controller. To your right is a hammer. Its your choice."
@Dr. Horrible: It sounded awesome at first, but the more i thought about it, i could probably take out the harddrive and save my console, i'd just have to destroy the...harddrive.... nvm
@Sullyville: I thought the exact same thing, but then I thought about Dragon's Lair like the article mentioned. I think it'll actually be kind of interesting if they don't directly tell you what you have to push like Dragon's Lair, and let you figure it out. While it made Dragon's Lair a total quarter eating machine, I'm sure it will make SAW last a lot longer that way.
In Saw V the guys there decided to kill each other off so there were only two remaining. Where as if they kept the whole group alive the traps would have been far less painful. So teamwork IS key in a Saw movie sometimes.
@EvilMetsFan fon Fabre: sadly i'm pretty sure Saw II could have worked that way as well if everyone wouldn't have been so focused on saving their own asses
@Polzin: that's why saw is a good series. it's mainly a psychological horror movie, but really, the only horror in it is the fact that due to human nature, people would actually act just like that unfortunately. someone who was your friend will be the one who, while you are all strapped to a wall, will be the first to try and pry himself up and get out of there, leaving you all behind(and most likely falling into a trap and dying first)
This sounds like it would have interesting multiplayer, though I doubt it will ever happen. Give each person a different goal (save person X, be the only one to survive, keep person X alive for Y minutes, etc.) and see the fun and deception begin.
Not enough games promote uneasy alliance and backbiting in multiplayer. It needs to be used more often.
@Revenant: i still think they are goreat movies with good stories, but i do see what you mean, considering that they are still making movies after the protagonist is dead.
Oh let me guess... the movie is coming out on, or around Halloween when Saw 16 comes out this year. This series lost all originality after the first movie.
@Robotic-Richard-Simmons: It has created its own little intricate universe that at the very least is interesting, though they do keep on retconning Jigsaws back story.
They really have given him a lot of reasons to hate the world.
@OW-Holmes: I've seen the first, second, and fourth movies in the series. I have to say... after the first it just seemed all too silly, and I feel like they were just making the movies more and more gruesome to make up for the lack of story. I will admit that I did enjoy the first movie however.
@Robotic-Richard-Simmons: lol, you need to see 3. that's where *******************. it's one of the key movies in the series, because of that. and 4,5 dn probably 6, will make all the more sense because of it.
The first Saw movie was a breath of fresh air in a movie genre that had stagnated due to shitty franchises like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Final Destination etc. Saw 2 was OKish, more of the same. Everything after that is useless rehashing.
@Combichristoffersen: Excatly. It was fresh air...and then it quickly fell back on it's own gimmick (violent deaths) and lost focus on what made the original so...original.
@Polzin: i will agree that some of the traps are pretty cool, but seriously these movies are not worth defending and getting upset over. they are total garbage.
@Alex_Mexico: I don't understand it either. Sadism is fucked up. The people who get off to the torture in the Saw rehashes and Hostel movies are barbaric animals.
@Alex_Mexico: the same reason people like Ninja gaiden, God of war, gears of war, GTA, Killzone 2, etc. and pay 3 times as much money for them than movies.
if you really want to know why, ask the people are interested in prototype.
@Kenny: I'll never understand the fascination some people have with those movies either. They don't like the movies for, say ..the storyline. The attraction seems to come solely from seeing people getting the most gruesome pain inflicted upon them. Quite frankly I find it very disturbing. It's even worse to think that someone out there might see the methods of inflicting pain and try to recreate it. Not a very likely chance mind you, given that it would take someone whose prepared to kidnap people, but still a slight chance nonetheless.

just repititious and boring.
They were really good at pushing the envelope the first few movies,
now it's just a cash cow.

IF you complain you didnt watch all the movies.
You have no idea whats going on till you watch 4 and 5. they are the movies that tell the entire story.
Now as for 6?? lol
Also people saying "how can you bring jigsaw back" really didnt watch anything after the 3rd saw

You'd think having to sit through 3 movies of nonsensical plot would be cause enough to do the exact oppsite.

2. the traps are ingenious and intriguing from on engineering stand-point
3. some times it just really cool how some of the characters are killed SPOILER: why did they have to kill off Matthews? and then Strahm?
4. the movies aren't all about gore and torture. i'm seriously getting sick of hearing that
