@WhiteMÃ¥ge is in fact a boy, damnit: It's a YTMND from this past summer, though Google shows a few jokes made a couple of years ago. Not an original idea and likely not of the poster's own work, but still well executed stuff.
I did actually create this graphic a few years back (and shared on the old, circa 2005/2006 G4TV message boards) it was sumarrily lifted from that unbeknownst to me (and that's fine, I put it out there) and for some strange reason it wound up on some guys YTMND page. I'm the ONLY comment on that YTMND (My YTMND account name is LupinTheThird) ...
In fact, while this image probably IS in my Photobucket account (I'll look for it, if it is there it will pre-date the YTMND), but, it's not tagged and my Photobucket is pretty disorganized, SO on a whim I Googled it and found that it was just easier to link to the YTMND page.
So, yeah, I have no Ill will towards the YTMND user who likely lifted the gag from the G4 forums, I just wish he did something more creative with it on YTMND ...
@Kobun: I also responded to WhiteMage on this one ... the graphic is in fact mine, but in previously sharing it on the web (G4TV message boards circa 2005/2006) it was lifted and used later on a YTMND ... which I don't have a huge problem with.
I'm not sure if there's any way to get an upload date off a Photobucket page, but here's a link to my original upload ... I know Photobucket changed their format a few times since then so I'm not sure if it carries any date signature (Image Stats seems to be down at the moment) ... either way I'm pretty sure I do have the original Paint Shop Pro file with all the "layers" in tact, though I doubt anybody cares enough to need to have me prove it on that level.
@Kobun: Actually, found a subsequent post from the Digital Press forums (my current stomping ground) where my friend Rob2600 cites the image as credited to me "Frankie", and this thread is about a year old:
I find it a little disconcerting that you would assume that Imagine Babyz would have made him drop the DS in disgust. The Imagine series has drawn critical ire for its unrealistic depictions of Babyz, Wedding Designers, and yes, even Zookeepers, but it's important to remember that these games are fantastical representations of their topic material, and are not meant to be taken seriously.
The Babyz series, the most consistently top-selling entry in this franchise, has had its ups and downs. I'm sure everybody remembers the Party Babyz debacle from about a year ago. Despite setbacks such as Party Babyz, the games in the Babyz line are incredible experiences that speak to the potential of video games to be viewed as "art". Even now, "Babyz Fashion" is proving that once again, the Babyz series is an innovator in the genre niche that it has bravely carved for itself. I hope to see more innovation from Ubisoft in the future with regards to the Imagine franchise.
@mintycrys is HOT for Bayonetta: I think Kotaku is over now because I can't imagine how this could ever ever be topped by anything for the rest of time.
I had to laugh at both the criminal and the pic on this article.
I just finished writing in blog how I'm in the middle of playing some Imagine games so that I'll know hat the hell I'm talking about when I finish writing the post on Female Gamers I'm working on.
I'll finally be able to talk about Imagine games from the point of view of someone that has actually played them and decide if they geta bum rap or if they really suck.
@ShadowOdin of dubious snowiness: Sarcasm? Otherwise, that would imply that the police seriously don't care enough to try to catch someone if there's no other evidence?
@Knoxximus ver. 5.66: I admit, I was gearing up to send you an E-slap. I thought you were gonna say Platinum was bad like Imagine Babyz. I'm glad I was wrong! :)
Don't fall for this. I bet you in a week or two he will release a gold and diamond encrusted PS3 for $163,883 less than this. Then you'll feel like a fool!
@(Starman) Starman: To be fair, it's not a Snuggie, but the elusive "Comfy Throw, WITH SLEEVES!" They are actually slightly nicer feeling than the airline blanket snuggie.
In fact, since most airlines don't carry blankets anymore I bet the Snuggie is where they went to die...
@(Starman) Starman:
Yes! I've been praising the Slanket over the Snuggie for more than a year; most people don't even believe me that the Slanket is real (what a far superior product name!)
