Well I have been watching it, I like the animation, the story so far hasn't been set to anything special yet, it has been all random episodes of this and that.

"You Master Chief whippersnappers have it easy with your ray guns and your alien thingamabobs and whatnot! In my days, we had to stab the alien invaders with bayonets! We wore helmets so outdated they hadn't been seen in Beetle Bailey comics for decades! We had to dig our weapons out of sandy gunk, walk ten miles in snow to get to the nearest latrine, and goshdangit, we liked it!"
I am pretty certain that the back cover (the second image) is directly from Call of Duty 3. I know this because I have died a fair amount of times there playing on veteran. Anyone else notice this? It's the first level directly after you climb over the wall into the graveyard.
Also, why does this look like WWII when it's supposed to be Halo?
@syafiqjabar of Mars: Ah a fellow Vidmaster? But even if it did, wouldn't that just make it WWII, since it has NOTHING to do with Halo. Besides the whole time travel thing. Probably.
Right, I can get doing this with Dino Bones, etc. But are archaeologists really digging up whole tanks and soldiers from wars as recent the one depicted here.
What exactly are children meant to learn from this?

@syafiqjabar of Mars: They also seem to have forgotten that it was Bungie's original intent to make Halo as an RTS, not a shooter. Course Bungie was probably so busy doing errr... other stuff... like ummm, stuff, to make Halo Wars, and thus give it to another company to do for them.
@syafiqjabar of Mars: Bungie didn't ask Ensemble to make a Halo game for them. Ensemble had been planning and creating the gamplay of a console-only RTS without any kind of story yet, when Microsoft suggested they use the Halo universe as a backdrop. So it wasn't a case of anyone not "letting" Bungie make it, they had never intended to.
@moomoomashoo: And if you were going to get somebody to do an RTS in the Halo universe that wasn't Bungie, Ensemble was on the list of 'Go-To' guys. It's not like Bungie invented the RTS, after all.
Hell, Bungie didn't even make the last Myth game, iirc.
@WizarDru: Which was why the last game didn't turn out so good, if I remember.
But yeah, Ensemble is a good RTS developer too. Like the guy above said, they wanted to make a console RTS and Microsoft suggested Halo. I was just wondering why an RTS of a Bungie-born franchise was not made by Bungie themselves, who previously made an awesome RTS series and intended Halo to be an RTS in the first place. Turns out Bungie did not even start the project.

This is a defining moment for Halo canon fanbois, including myself. Also looking forward to the Forerunner Trilogy of novels next year.
Looks like the Halo universe is rounding itself out into completeness.

Are there really soldiers out there....stuck in clay...?
12/16/09
That clay doesn't look like clay, it looks like some kind of stale vanilla-covered pound cake.
And dig the soldiers out of the clay? What is this, Return of the Dragon Emperor again?

Brilliant.
And that description in broken English on the back is priceless.
