@WhiteMÃ¥ge is in fact a boy, damnit: Yeah, I've seen a ton of Ulalas, but it's great seeing Purge. I think Jaguar's SP5p2 costume would be neat to see as well, and I'm surprised it doesn't pop up. Never cared for Pine, but she is doing it well.
@maraxusofk: I know. :) Just wanted to make the point that not all girls can be that way, and how it is disheartening when normal sized girls are seen as "big" just because they are being compared to incredibly thin girls.
@Resuriko: I think female gamers should start posting about how ugly/fat/disappointing real men are compared to beefcake/anime ideals just like most male gamers seem to about women in general.
@Resuriko: Actually the pink haired one looks 1000 times better then the other one, if thats even a girl. Thick is the new thin! and around my town they seem to be in demand.
@WhiteMÃ¥ge is in fact a boy, damnit: You have not seen feminist rage, and I'm not a feminist! :3 Just saying, as a female - we get tired of hearing things like that. Those types of comments are what cause many young girls to develop eating disorders in the first place, that's all.
If I wanted to go feminist rage on you, you would have had a very thorough talking to haha.
@Resuriko: It wouldn't be better per se, but it would be hilarious to hear the same 'men' decry sexist outrage about how we're being dehumanized as hunks of love muscle and not for our brains or gaming skillz (or being big-boned and 'toned').
If the gaming culture wants to undo the damage they've done in affecting our culture's view on the female body, the industry as well as the gamers need to grow up.
Sadly I don't see that happening. Have you seen the photos of the the new character in the Borderlands DLC? I love breasts but damn, those screenshots made me cringe.
With that said, it's obviously not just the gaming industry at fault but in so many facets of our instant gratification culture. But it doesn't mean the gaming industry can't be better about it.
@Resuriko: I will be working on a project in 2010 where I explore different facets of modern womanhood in a series of formal portraitures and allegorical paintings(and hopefully finishing them... painting is a mysterious thing sometimes).
I'd like nothing better to get more ideas and explore this topic elsewhere. Let me know.
@smbu2000: I only wish he was wearing Michael's classic hat.
Off topic: I feel like the horrible person I am when I looked at that emoticon face you made. That is because it reminds me of a video I seen about a drunk driving video. Honestly, I'm not comfortable talking about it anymore.
And this gallery proves your Feature article to be valid. Not quite on par with their Japanese counterparts. I'm not saying they're bad, but you can definitely see the difference in quality.
As much as I wouldn't dress up like this myself, you have to give them credit on how much work they put in and how good the costumes look even if I don't always know what character I'm looking at.
I know guys are always like "ooooh sexy women" but really, these girls can really pull it off.
@Pretty Sneaky Sis: See? Much cuter when she's smiling. I hate that ridiculous face that most females decide they need to make in every photo. Its not sexy-it makes you look like you're related to Donald Duck.
@Voyou_Charmant: cosplay is as foreign to me as the whole "furry" thing. To each their own, and at times there are nice things (and costumes) to look at, so I won't complain :)

It's Hatsune Miku. There's a Japanese mnemonic for remembering numbers, and 39 can be read as "mi ku."
I think it's from Hatsune Miku: Project Diva for PSP - there is a Space Channel 39 costume you can unlock for Miku in it.

I approve. If men are gonna go around judging like that, so should women. It would also be hilarious.

I said she's chubby because she is. Ulala is a skinny-ass lady, and should be cosplayed by such. Lady on the left could pull off Ulala.

There's something about eastern Cosplay that they're able to really get into the character not just with the outfit, but the overall attitude as well.
