Capcom 2 Next?]]> Capcom's VP of Business Development and Strategic Planning, Christian Svensson, says the company is far from done making high def Remixes of its old-school games.

So if you liked Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, make with the jumping for joy. If you liked Marvel vs. Capcom enough to want a third one, tough luck: Svensson says it'd be a lot harder to do a full-blown sequel than it would be to crap out lovingly fashion an HD Remix.

Here's what he had to say to VideoGamer.com on the subject:

"I won't say it doesn't need it. Marvel would be great to do. There's obviously a fan base for it. It's probably our most requested title. Unfortunately, I wish I had news to share on that front but I don't."

"I would never say never [to MvC3] but I would say the barriers to doing that are much higher than the barriers for MvC2," said Svensson.

The ESRB rated Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last October. Make of that what you will.

<![CDATA[Capcom Talks Original Wii Downloads]]> We know that Nintendo has plans for original, downloadable Wii content, not just Channel updates and Virtual Console games. We don't really know when that content is coming, but it doesn't sound like it's going to be any time soon according to Gamasutra's new interview with Capcom's Christian Svensson, senior director of strategic planning and research.

He says of original DLC on the Wii:

It's possible. I think you'll have to talk more to Nintendo about that. It's not a technical limitation thing, though. We're certainly going to be able to deliver. It's really more of them getting their process in place for approvals and their pipeline in place.

I know they have loads of people who want to make content, but I think it's a matter of some people turning on the spigot. We've been asked about bringing our stuff over. It's going to happen. Once that spigot is opened and the floodgates are unleashed, I'm sure you'll see loads of it.

Svensson mostly dismisses the possibility of a number of already announced Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network games coming digitally to the Wii, such as Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD, due to file size limits but doesn't rule out disc-based SKUs.

In the meantime, we wait patiently for Wii spigot updates.
