i hated GTAIV. it was just not as huge an improvement over 3 as 3 was over 2...
but this seems almost like a return to the series' roots. with the top-down camera and all, this looks like the GTA titles that made me fall in love with the series in the first place all those years ago :)
That $10,000 and the best weapons is gonna be a code... that's gonna be plastered all over the internet within days of release. Kinda like how Prince of Persia's Skins were. >.> Do yourself a favor and go with Amazon. :P Free shipping and tax free.
@@ph15h~!: Hmm...I don't see much value in this code. I'm sure there are going to be countless others that you can type in ala past GTA games to get you waht you want. This just kinda ruins the experience for me. I want to be like Niko and work my way up in the world. I don't want $10 000 and all of the best weaposn when I start, thats kinda self defeating...
How exactly is this different from the gameplay of GTA 1 and 2? As good as the franchise has been lately (yeah, that includes 4 for me) I never really had much fun with the top-down interface for this series. Sure, I know the technological limitations didn't leave much in the way of alternatives, but...eh.
@Mister Jack: Just throwing it out there- I found the original GTAs boring and frustrating when playing solo. However, LAN multiplayer- what a hoot. It truly was where it was at.
@ZetaCrossfire: I didn't get my handhelds till late in the game, so I didn't play the original GTA portables.
I really don't care which platform this is on, from the standpoint of a dual owner and someone who will buy any GTA game just because it's GTA. I think there are a lot of people out there that would say the same thing. It doesn't really matter what system it's on (DS, Gizmondo, Game Boy Advance), it'll get bought and played, and it'll be better than Petz Dogz 7: Dog Wash. And that's really all that matters.
@MCWHAMMER: if you havent played the original GTA portables yet then I highly recommend you hunt them down, especially as they should be dirt cheap by now!
I'm sure the graphics won't be nearly as good as Vice City Stories are Liberty City Stories. Those games were miniaturized PS2 versions of GTA, this looks more like a flash based GTA. I'm still getting it though.
@kylo4iskyle4: Graphics do not make the game... they just make the game prettier. We all still play the shit outta Super Mario Bros. and this GTA game HAS to have better graphic than that, right? So stop your bitching about the graphics. They're just the make-up on the whore that'll get ignored during "business".
Confirmed- Rockstar announces GTA Chinatown Wars will have character Compromised entirely of one pixel, because that's the only way they could have a game bigger than LCS and VCS on the DS.
They should have a minigame where you have to figure out if the hooker is a real hooker or an undercover cop. You touch her and see if her heart speeds up. And call it Doki Doki Hooker Shinpan.

The camera moves; that will make a huge difference. I couldn't stand the tank like controls of the first game.

I don't look for "big" games on my DS. I look for "deep" games.

As Long as there is MORE with CONTENT interspersed between, bigger is better. Big expanses without shit means nothing.
