I'll admit that I didn't know much about Ms. Marvel until they recently gave her her own comic. With that and her featuring more heavily in the Avengers books, I have grown to really enjoy her character. It's nice to have a really strong female super hero these days. I don't just mean her abilities, she's also a great tactician from her time in the military. She's a magnificent leader, and she is just a strong willed and fun character. Her books are one of the only ones I read these days that I actually just have fun reading.
Ms. Marvel has become something of an inside joke between me and my friends. We had no idea who she was before MUA, so we checked out her Wikipedia page and spent the whole night laughing. She is the prime example of how superheroes run through a gamut of different identities, a brief bout of alcoholism and still come out on top.
Anyway, I'm glad to have her back. And would you look at the legs on her? Good lord.
Aw, man. I'm a little bummed by UA2's lineup. The team this time around is lacking in the chick superhero department. We get folks like Invisible Woman, Jean Grey, Storm... meh to me. I'd rather see Rogue or Psylocke or Black Cat... Ah well. There apparently is a plan for DLC characters for the game, so who knows what the future will hold. I'll play Deadpool and try to be content enough with that.
@GunFlame: I agree 100% I was very disappointed that they're going Civil War instead of running with the Galactus storyline they left in the first game.
@metallicorphan: Ms. Marvel got nearly fully absorbed by Rogue, making her a multiple personality for a while (and the normally heroic Ms marvel was none too happy about it, and often became "difficult"). I think the absorption killed ms. marvel's real body, leaving her mind inside Rogue.
Eventually she went away and rogue got to keep the powers, which is why rogue has flight and super strength- her own power was just the absorption thing before that.
Marvel girl was Jean Grey's original name before the Pheonix moved in.
@MonsterKingRen: Dude, seriously?! Ms Marvel is a corner stone for a lot of the Marvel Universe (Connecting the names much?)!
Carol Danvers was such an intrical part of Spiderman, Wolverine, and X-Men's storyline in some major arcs. Most notably Rogue, who any real Marvel fan would know that Ms Marvel is the reason Rogue has super-human strength and the ability to fly.
To call Ms Marvel boring is ignorant. She is a much more complex character than a lot of "popular" characters (*cough* Gambit *cough*), and she's obviously popular enough to have more than one person in the Universe to be her (Sharon and Carol).
Am I doing it wrong if I found that everyone in the first game played the same?
Games that have selling points of "LOOK HOW MANY CHARACTERS WE HAVE!" lose all of their thunder for me when I find they all play the same. This and The budokai tenkaichi games have the same problem.
@Psychopathic Assassin:
But for the most part you were just using basic attacks, and then specials only really came in a few flavors themselves. Ranged, buff, splash effect, and then some unique ones.
The characters were still very much the same.
@Dillinger23:
They had differences, but every character can still be played the same. I think that is lazy. Make differentiations in style clear, up front.
@Demonbird: The farther you get in the game, the less you use your basic attacks. By the end, I almost never attacked and spammed specials over and over. At the point the differences between characters was obvious.
Best character in MUA for me was Moon Knight. His ultimate was just godly and it was effective on both mobs or bosses. The moons he sent out increase with each upgrade and the damage they made perhit was amazing. Did I mention that they would ricochet of the walls as well? They bounced around the room for a couple of times quickly enough to cover even bigger rooms too, like the Madarin boss fight.
Can I just make a party of Deadpool, Deadpool, Deadpool and Deadpool? I really don't care about anyone else in the game.
Note: Archaotic just finished reading the entire 50-issue run of Cable and Deadpool yesterday, and is entirely incapable of processing information on any other comic book characters for the forseeable future.
@ttocs: There are trade paperbacks of them, but I used the free subscription to Marvel Digital Comics that came with the retail version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to read through them all.
Deadpool is like the greatest character ever though, so I can totally understand your desires. Though I would like to one of his alternate costumes reflect this scene...
@gotee12: I second that. Merc with a mouth is great stuff. Everyone should read it, especially all the bandwagon jumpers who think Deadpool is sooo cool despite never reading a single comic with him in it and knowing virtually nothing about the character. >:(
@Đipic: I'm a little frustrated that Digital Comics doesn't have any of the newer Deadpool stuff. It stops after Secret Invasion: Deadpool #2. RIGHT before he starts sabotaging the Skrull fleet. :[
@Archaotic: Deadpool was always the best to play as. You could block and heal not taking any damage while blocking. You could do this with Wolverine, but he didn't have range attacks.
@Psychopathic Assassin: He was definitely ALWAYS on my team in the original game. Ironic, since he's less "powerful" than pretty much every single playable cast member save for, like, Nick Fury.
Yet he kicks more ass than almost all of them put together.

Why didn't they keep the Galactus ending and run with it. This would have given so much scope for the characters they could have used;
Nova
Warlock
Quasar
Cap. Marvel
Black Bolt
Powerful characters, cool characters.

Who'd I be?

@Rhys: RUN COWARD!
I also think RUN COWARDS is appropriate, given I just realized if I shaved everything but some 5 o' clock shadow, I'd be the Heavy.
