@Solday: I kind of agree. Obviously responding with physical assault isn't the most appropriate reaction, but honestly, you've got to be some kind of obnoxious snob to ask someone who's minding their own business to stop doing what they're doing, especially when it's something as incapable of bothering others around you as a cellphone game.

    Yeah, I heard about this.

Man, the Saikyo line is seriously like the old west.

I'm on that train everynight after work, and it seems as if the craziest of the crazies are on there.

    Que Ozzy's 'Crazy Train.'

The groping is so bad that in the during heavy commute hours during the morning and evening hours, there are seperate cars for women only. Recently, there have been 'gang gropings' going on...where a group of guys will surround a woman and wouldn't let her run.

Whenever you see the pictures of people being backed into the train with a battering ram, odds are it is the Saikyo line.

I can't even begin to express how crowded these trains are...and as a results tensions are always high.

Thus it deservingly earning the moniker of the 'Psycho line.'

    @Sutekh_Slain:

Here are some more details on that incident.

Yeah, women definitely scream, and call out for help...but these scumbags ain't very bright.

I was on the Psycho line after work one night last week, when I heard screams for help coming from the other end of the carriage.

Also, mace really isn't an option, since a lot of these trains are so crowded that you don't even have the arm room to reach into your bag and grab it. And even if you could get a hold of it, and sprayed it on your attacker(s), you would end up spraying half of the people in the car. Also, I get the feeling that mace is illegal in Japan.

Woman in Japan who don't scream need to learn to scream, loudly! However, I think that is only half the problem, as society doesn't seem like the type to come and help, I've seen people look the other way when people are in trouble be it a fight or someone passed out on the road. Shame.

@American_N_Japan: That is exactly the problem, I have had a few female friends tell me about being assaulted, one of which was really bad in the stairwell of her college and not a single one went to the police to report it or told their families. I still clutch my fists every time I think about it.

I wish there was some type of public awareness program or something of the nature that attempted to eradicate that "Just sweep it under the carpet" aspect of reporting crimes.

@Derek Rumpler: I've gotten into a fight with a friend over Super Smash Bros. He was a 64 kid, I was a PS Boy. Clearly He had the Smash Bros advantage, and after "recommending" that I use Jugglypuff he used kirby to whoop my ass with the same move OVER and OVER and OVER, so finnally i hit him on the top of the head with the controller.

    we're still bestfriends.

but yeah, I've smashed, thrown, and kicked a lot of controllers in my time. especially the S-Type for the original X box, now that controller could take a beating.

I took an s-type by the chord once and whipped it against the wall and it bounced back and hit me in the face.

    after that I stopped...

I don't know why an old woman would tell someone to stop playing a cell phone game, but I can't imagine why you'd hit her....6 times.
