    Made the right choice regarding Cave Story Stephen, as it's considered the best independent game ever by some (including me) mainly because of it's story, not the gameplay (though it's pretty nice too).

    @MtlAngelus: There was no one there who could tell me. The guy who was manning that kiosk while I was trying it wasn't even able to tell me that Contra: Rebirth, which was also on that WiiWare kiosk, was coming out next (this) week, nor even who developed it. I can get good stuff out of most people who are in the know (unless it's a fighting game -- then the stuff people say just confuses me). The opportunity just wasn't there.

    If you had asked me about Halo lore before this post I probably would have guessed 2-3 inches tops. Shows what I know* lol

    I'm assuming a lot of it focuses around events in the books and such? I can't honestly imagine the games being fleshed out that much, but again, see asterisk.

    @dangerman_: That's the great thing about low-res 2d games; the vague interpretations of characters. The only 3d game I can think of that does that is Final Fantasy 7, but those Popeye-looking models look more horrible than charming.

    @Christoph: I'm very curious to know why the game is coming to Wiiware and not to any of the other platforms; from what I've heard, it's less expensive and easier to transition a game from PC to, say, Xbox.

    I have a huge wiiware backlog to buy and go through. I need to try World of Goo and LostWinds, as well as the new FF Tower defense game. At this point, I only own Homestar Runner 1, Mega Man 9 and the new Bomberman (which is incomprehensible on my 32" tv screen. It would be fun if I could tell what was going on at all). Still, I think that once you scrape the shit off the sides, there is a great core of games at its center, enough to keep anyone interested for a long time.


    Crap, I still need to try Cocoto and Lit, also! There's about to be a deluge. In addition to everything you mentioned, there's Night Game, Adventure Island and Swords and Soldiers...

    It's been pretty good to me. Megaman 9, World of Goo, Gradius Re-birth, Dr. Mario RX, and Strongbad shine amongst my Virtual Console collection. I'm excited about Cave Story, and given FFIV is my favorite Final Fantasy, FFIV-2 is my most anticipated game. Lots of Shovel Ware in between but it's gotten progressively better. Still probably have more games on XBLA though.


    Now if only the DSi Ware wasn't getting crap like animal crossing clocks every monday. I still have 500 points to spend from back when I bought the system.
