I'll probably get it on PC if I do end up purchasing, but the old-school camera really doesn't appeal to me.
In fact, and this may be because I haven't taken the time to look into it more, I'm really not that interested in Dragon Age yet. Maybe positive reviews will change my mind ... #dragonageorigins
1. Ps3 at least accepts kb/m why don't developer give the option for kb/m control? I bet that on PC you can plug in a joypad n use that. why not the other way round?
2. Those with options will most likely get it on PC anyway #dragonageorigins
@deanbmmv: With the exception of PS3 exclusives, I go PC anyway for the most part. You have to remember, the PS3 is a closed system-a console. The PC is pretty much wide open. And much more powerful. #dragonageorigins
@homernoy: Edit: it's clear it is the devs choice. It's very hard if you have an online component in a game, and you put the majority of the players at a disadvantage by enabling KB/M controls. Pretty hard to even that out. #dragonageorigins
@Meteoric: "officially " - this is PC we're talking about, officially my PC doens't support Wiimote or Sixaxis, unofficaly theWiimote is an awesome MCE controller.
Also where did they said it would definitely not support joypad? last RPG I got on PC had joypad controls on by default which was stupidly annoying(sloppy port to blame most likely) #dragonageorigins
@homernoy: I understand not having kb/m as an advantage in online on console games, but DA:O is not online, and they have kb/m controls worked out for the PC version. #dragonageorigins
@Meteoric: hmmm good point. matching UI's would make sense and these don't match. games from 2008 onward on the pc that have a console counterpart i've notice support and change the UI to a 360's whenever i plug one in even with non-gamesforwindows affliated games like hawx or wolverine.
that is unless dragon age changes it's UI once you plug that controller in. (i don't understand why though it would play awful).
also gawker, i want to view hidden comments all the time. i hate having to scroll all the way down past the "important-er" posts. i one day wish for a class-free digital society :( #dragonageorigins
@ithyphallus, lazy beareaucrat: To view hidden comments you need to go to your proile page, click 'settings' and change it there.
I guess they did that so the view is tied to your account not your cookies ( so you can sign in on a mates PC and get the views you choose) #dragonageorigins
Proof some console gamers shouldn't use a mouse: I apologize to the new user who I tried to approve but slipped and accidentally clicked "ban." So sorry. And you were making a very good comment about whether "shoehorning" an overhead strategic view would even work on a console. From now on, I will moderate comments only with a DualShock 3. #dragonageorigins
@Stephen Totilo: So from the article i'm trying to think which way is the proper way to read it. Can I use a Keyboard and Mouse for the same effect as the PC for PS3 or am I just restricted to the DualShock 3? I really don't see as to why they wouldn't allow keyboard/mouse setups in console (especially PS3) games of this nature. #dragonageorigins
@Griefy: I imagine it's because there's not a whole lot of demand for it. Adding in kb+m support when probably like 90% of the install base won't touch it just seems like unnecessary work. #dragonageorigins
A more important feature that's only in the PC version is the ability to actually set movement directions. On the console versions you have to manually select the character you want to move, then use the left stick to get them there #dragonageorigins
@octaslash: Well, at least you had a star. I don't like to comment too often. Here is the link to Chris Priestly in the Dragon Age forums. Took me awhile to dig it up. [daforums.bioware.com]#dragonageorigins
@TrjnRabbit: You don't need to get the PC version for the Mass Effect tie in stuff. The bonuses are cross-platform. You can buy the PC version of Dragon Age and redeem the Blood Dragon Armor for a console version of Mass Effect 2.
@diredreams:
Well, that's one excuse to go with the console version down.
Doesn't really change that my PC setup isn't really made for gaming. Downstairs is the consoles, with a nice comfy couch, upstairs is the PC in my bedroom (with no desk). #dragonageorigins
Aww... I was hoping the top-down strategic perspective would stay in at the very least the PS3 version for the consoles. I mean... Mouse and Keyboard Support please? If Epic can do it, why can't Bioware? =[ #dragonageorigins
@Taggart6 con estrella: Yeah... I guess I have to build a new PC for it. Minimum specs are fine... Recommended specs are damn. New desktop when this drops :D #dragonageorigins
In all honesty I could not imagine playing a game like this on a console. I'm not trying to tout PC superiority or anything like that, but the idea of me personally playing Dragon Age on a console is like playing Pac Man with a Guitar Hero controller.
Then again, Bethesda was able to get Fallout and Oblivion to play well on consoles (albeit not as well as their PC counterparts, but still well), so hopefully BioWare will be able to do the same for those who can't or won't game on PC. #dragonageorigins

I must be the only one who is going for the 360 version for the Mass Effect tie in stuff.
That and my PC is mainly for media, not gaming. #dragonageorigins
