Cool news, though. Although we have to agree that Microsoft added the community twist first.
I wonder how many 64-player games can happen at the same time, and if there can be tournament through "linked games" or something.

Only I got how this worked after seeing a screenshot and reading a few sentances.
I am still not sure how 1 vs 100 works (no trolling, I really think it was needlessly complicated)

While this has some similarities (mainly in the scope of participants) I think it's a stretch to say it's an "obvious response to" 1 Vs 100 on XBLA.

Buzz is the older established franchise, though, and there's a good chance it might've appeared without Microsoft doing their thing. But I think it's safe to say this spurred them.
Personally I think this feels alot more avaliable, and combining it with Home is pure genius. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I think there is some timing involved, Buzz does tend to rate you on who got ti right then see who was fastest.

People are fickle.
Sony released the beta of Home and everyone jumped on it saying how lame it was with nothing to do. Now people are liking some of the newer stuff and in a year or two people will be all over it like a rash.

But yes, you have to have a Gold membership. For a live game show like that, I would expect Mr. Cashman want to get paid and the developers and publishers want compensation for the games people buy with the thousands of points given away every night.

You're right nothing is free but there can definitely be win-win situation. This is one of them, publishers get to advertise their game and gamers get to enjoy a glimpse of it.

I guess it's a socially-adaptive game that's rated E so it can reach all the demographics and quite possibly be connected to Home.
A new puzzle game? A new platformer? Who knows?! All that's important is it's a secret and we all know we'll all be let down once the announcement of what the actual game really is.

Sometimes the bomb round and particularly 'steal the points' round can be fun suckers, particularly for those who can't answer as fast or don't have as much trivia knowledge. Would be nice to eliminate them or alter the way the game plays a bit at least.

That's not my reasoning, it's Miyamoto's. And I'm pretty sure Miyamoto was thinking that it only applies to good developers.
