I like the analog now it does seem alot more ACCURATE than the buttons but atleast it will stop everyone from BITCHING i guess. Sad ppl can't get used to this control scheme like i did trust me I was a big button guy in FN3 but in R4 you need the accuracy of the analog stick because of the SWEEEEET SCIENCE!
Glad to see EA listening to their customers and giving out FREE DLC! And its weird that people are getting mad about EXTRA OPTIONS. When has extra options been a bad thing? So what if these so called "noobs" use the face buttons? Its supposed to be about fun not elitism, its a freaking game. And if these buttons let the people who threw down $60 have fun, I'm all for it.
@The Red Comet: What I find hilarious is people bragging about how awesome they are at the game and then whining that button controls will totally mean button mashers will start winning.
@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: The biggest complaint I have about the game is the method in which you get up as compared to the previous game. Feels pretty fucking awful to me.
Also, the method in which you heal yourself inbetween rounds. They have it labeled as "Play", which only involves clicking a button and spending points. Another lame ass thing they did only to change it from the previous game. It involves no playing and no skill.
@CustomFirmware: Not evil..but they do tend to charge for just about everything that they can. "Timesaver" DLC and whatnot. It's nice to see that they're giving something away from free..hopefully other companies will start to give away DLC again. It just seems to me that a lot of downloadable stuff..especially arcade games seem to be a little overpriced.
@tehdorkz: TBF I don't have a problem with EA charging people to unlock content in the game so long as they are up-front about it. If you find games too difficult then this is no different to spending money on a cheat line or what-have-you, except that this is more convenient.
Time is money after all, if paying £3 saves you 200 hours of grinding away at RockBand or Need for Speed or whatever to unlock all the songs, cars and what-not then that's a good pay-off in a purely Fiscal/Temporal sense.
Personally, I play games for the journey, not the end result so I would never buy this, but if someone bought RockBand to have a bit of a laugh with some friends at parties then why not pony up the £3 to have access to everything rather than making every play Orange Crush over and over again?
@Ice-nine froze my baby: I agree to an extent. There should be a noob tax in the sense of slightly disadvantaged, ie. higher stamina kills, or higher counter punch damage taken.
No one can contest, that button pushing is accurate. It is a given. Half the fun of FNR4 is that you have to try really hard to get accurate, just like Skate vs Tony Hawk. Due to Tony Hawk's button pushing configuration, unrealistic combos come out. In Skate, even a simple jump to manual to jump combo is a feat, which is IMHO realistic. In FNR4 button pushing will make it more like Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
Ok, but will they be adding a filter, so us TPC-users don't have to play against the button-mashers online? That's the key feature if they're patching in buttons for the whiners!
@iEro-Sennin: FNR3 offered both styles, some people liked using buttons others liked using analogue, taking out the option alinated 1 group of those who played it, they shouldn't have to be forced to use a new control scheme when a perfectly usable existing control scheme is there.
@Superbowl54: Rubbish. It isn't being resistant to change at all, it is enjoying a control scheme that you are used to and find intuitive, it's called opinion and personal preference.
Maybe we should all give up our 360's and PS3's and PC's because the Wii changed gaming, we are just ignorant and resistant to this new and amazing change *rolls eyes*
you just proved my point. it is enjoying a control scheme you are USED TO, that same control scheme makes the playing field online unfair, which is the whole issue here.
And that was an absolutely terrible example. The only thing wii changed was that it brought the death of gaming into the limelight.
@Superbowl54: It's the same as the FPS Controller/Mouse and Keyboard argument.
If it makes that much difference then perhaps it should be a server option? Sticks only, buttons only or mixed.
Personally I'd love it if Xbox and PS3 allowed the same choice for M/KB and controller on FPS and RTS games, provided that threre is a server option to seperate out the (a), (b) and mixed people.
My roommate got this game last night, but refused to let me view the tutorial before we started playing. I would really appreciate the button option sooner rather than later so I can beat the shit out of him.
Seriously, how do you do special punches or haymakers? I just end up spamming hooks and jabs the entire time because the controls are so touchy and weird. =/
@TOCATL: The game's not as fun without the crazy power punches, the slow-mo and the knockdowns. It's REALLY hard to score a knockdown with nothing but jabs.

If you can't adapt then you should pay out of the nose.
