The Most Disgraceful Nuntendo bS "Game"

Paying homage to risqué DS game Duel Love, erotic game maker Clock Up raises the anty with Nuntendo bS "game" Disgrace Academy Principal/Slave Club ~Mind Reading Training Transcript~. The girl mind reading/slave quarters training adventure "game" has players rub and blow in a game system that's reminiscent of Duel Love's. But in a way more explicit and shameful way. Hit the jump for the game's "screenshots." Be warned, they're TOTALLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK. Beware!

FutureMark Responds to Pwnage Trademark Ire

In what can only be described as the lamest excuse ever, Jukka Mäkinen, Executive Producer, Futuremark Games Studio, has responded to the ire raised when word floated to the surface that his company had decided to file a trademark for "Pwnage."

The Finnish software company had initially filed papers on the prevalent word on Feb. 26 to protect the word in relation to:

"... computer game software; computer game programs; computer game discs; interactive multimedia computer game program; downloadable ring tones, ... multimedia software recorded on CD-ROM featuring fictional characters and computer games; pre-recorded DVD's, video tapes, laser discs featuring movies about fictional characters, and pre-recorded compact discs featuring music; motion picture films on fictional characters...".

But they did it, Mäkinen says, to protect their company, not make money:

Anti-Halo Dr. Is Full Of It, Comes Clean

Earlier this week we told you about the antics of Dr. Susan Bartel, who made claims about Halo, violence, brains and video games on The Morning Show. The thing is, I go drinking with a lot of brain researchers. Anyway, she came clean to Game Politics when they questioned her about her area of expertise:

BioShock Widescreen - The Sad Conclusion

And the saga of the BioShock widescreen outrage comes to a close, though not in a way that's going to make the angered gamers across the country any happier. In a post on the Cult of Rapture website it is revealed that widescreen isn't cropped at all. 4:3 is just bigger.
Instead of cropping the FOV for 4:3 displays and making all 4:3 owners mad in doing so, we slightly extended the vertical FOV for standard def mode: we never wanted to have black bars on people's displays. (This way, everybody is happy...) This does mean that people playing on a standard def display see slightly more vertical space, but, this does not significantly affect the game-play experience and, we felt that it best served our goal of keeping the game experience as close as possible to the original design and art vision on both types of displays.
So widescreen isn't a crop of fullscreen after all! Haha, we are so silly. Fullscreen is just an extension of widescreen! Oh yeah, I feel a headache coming on. More »

Ocarina of Time 2D

A few years back there was a PC program called Zelda Classic that allowed anyone to not only play Zelda on their PC (with updated BS Zelda style graphics), but also to design their own scenarios, including items from the Game Boy and N64 Zeldas. It was pretty cool... then, all of a sudden, it disappeared into the murky ether of the Internet's past, only to ever be glimpsed again by the random Archive.org browser. Hey! Just checked it out! It's still around, and active again after a 15 month hiatus! More »
