Speaking of the curse, Steelers' safety Ryan Clark would be a great candidate for the Madden cover. Or maybe Joey Porter.

Too bad they didn't use Brady. Would've kept that curse alive.

He'll never look right to me in a Jets uni, the Packers uniform is better IMO. Hopefully he will retire, he's done enough.

I don't think it's weird at all that EA might have chosen the cover athlete before the retirement announcement. The previous season ended months earlier, so they would've had time to pick a popular player for the cover by then.

Should have put Dan Marino, Phil Sims, Jim Kelly and John Elway.

Just asking but... why is the athlete on the cover of a video game package important? No matter who they choose or what's his/her status in the selected discipline, if the game is good i'll still get it to enjoy that part.

That is only my opinion in the case of sports games though. I would sure damn mind if popular characters were misrepresented on their box art.

@braven08:Madden is the modern day wheaties box. Its not only the marketing but the honour that comes with being on the cover.

How can you revoke your retirement if you're not retired? What EA is claiming seems to be illogical when one thinks about it.

Please EA, put Ben Roflsberger on the cover next year so he gets hurt.

@Ryan Saotome: Seconded. Or maybe that other guy (the name escapes me) who ran that 100-yard TD at the Super Bowl and then later beat down a defenseless Cardinal. Douchebags.

Yeah, that's James Harrison. That was a horrendous cheapshot near the end.

Should have booted him. Retire already Farve! The jets over-payed and still didn't make the playoffs.
