I think I should get reduced insurance rates for completing so many dating missions in GTA4 with a sportbike without crashing and scaring my date off, lol...
The fact they can 'prove' that games are able to influence real life habits is concerning.
I can see some Senator bringing this up in some 'Video Games are Dangerous' commitee. This is only one step removed from stating that Halo has the ability to influence school shootings.
I am no doomsayer, but 'results' like this being arbitrarily claimed could result in the regulation of a pastime I have enjoyed for many years.
@skaven: I wouldn't take too much concern with this type of proof. The difference is physical agility and reflex vs subjective mental influence. - Medical games such as ice worlds/environments have been proven to provide burn victims with soothing and calming sensations, and while this displays a connection between mindset and experience, it does not promote the fact that ice worlds have those same effects on all other patients.
@OMG! Piggies!: Without cheating? You arent allowed to use your fingers, its suppose to be a driving simulator as if your hands are on the wheels and your just staring.
But if you got that legit, thats amazing! I got 4.84 using my eyes only. Not bad I guess.
@Xenris: It's not hard, I got 6.15 and that was with one or two mistake from overlapping fish. I simply divide focus on each eye, one eye follow one group and the other eye for another group.
@MaxDragon7: I got a 5.48 and that's with 2 of the waves kinda jumping/skipping on my PC. If I can seriously get an insurance deductible by playing an easy flash game, I'll surely take it.
guys i have some bad news, the demo is horrible and will be hated by all, but i have some god news, I JUST SAVED A BUNCH A MONEY ON MY CAR INSURANCE!!!
I do know that if I was trying again, I'd change my guessing order to start with the gems I was 100% sure of...my last challenge I started with one of the ones I was unsure of and was wrong.
What I am thinking of right now is: How in the world do we measure this data and compare it to real life?! Whatever the amount of jewels we get won't show much. I am wondering how the system works to challenge someone taking the test, and what can be concluded in terms of statistics. Hmm..
For how smart the Mensas are, you'd think that they would have figured out just how bogus IQ really is. It really has nothing to do with you "overall" intelligence, just your puzzle-solving abilities and experience. To be fair, that would make them good at helping with a puzzle solving game, but it won't necessarily make you any smarter at anything other than puzzles.
@Bakkster_Man: Exactly. IQ isn't a good measure of anything except the ability to solve IQ tests, and definitely doesn't equate to "intelligence". I speak as someone who is quite good at IQ tests (I apparently have an IQ of 145), and yet I can be quite frighteningly stupid at times.
When I was seven, I had to take an IQ test to get into a private school. I was in the 99th percentile, with an IQ of roughly 145. This made me eligible to apply to Mensa.
In the intervening years, I used the internet for the first time, got my first gaming console, and started playing Magic: The Gathering.
When I took an IQ test as part of a psychological evaluation for a security clearance, I had dropped to 126.
@tzaketh: I am scared. You are like a future copy of me. When I was 9 I took their test and scored 144, then started playing Magic and computer games.
So did you end up being a relatively valuable member of the society?
In Mensa: The Game, you have to take a long written exam at the title screen after you press start, and if you fail you aren't allowed to play the game and are mailed a rejection letter you can shamefully display on your wall for the rest of your adult life.

Now we need games for the people the perform one of this task while driving
Use their cell phones
Eat breakfast,launch
Read the newspaper
Shaving or putting on their make-up
Listen to music so loud that you could hear it 8 blocks away
And picking their noses
But going back to the topic if this help to(lower insurance premiums)then good but what will happen if people score are not that high?

I could've done better, but I missed an entire guess (7 gems) by messing up the first guess.
It was a fun and silly test. Not much to it. :P
