What I can make out is a step in the right direction. In that first trailer, the monsters looked...a little too human. One of my favorite things about Splatterhouse was its gross, disgusting, abominable monsters. Real nightmare fuel kind of creatures. Simply making humanoid demons wouldn't cut it for this game.
@Mister Jack is F***ing Metal: The screaming mimis in the second one were pretty human looking, and that game was my favorite of the 3. That said, I completely agree with you.
GOOD! I, for one, am tired of lazy ass devs with second rate games. And this includes lazy ass devs that don't port shit to other platforms...looking at you Valve...take your head out of your ass and port great games to other platforms...left 4 dead to PS3 please...and Bethesda WTF? no Fallout 3 DLC for PS3? and 360 owners deserve Killzone 2 Guerilla...imagine how much better it would be on Live?
sorry if I am pissed and ranting...I got off work early and drank a bottle of wine...long week in the IT industry
@Seiven: The only reason Killzone 2 would be better on live is because my friends won't get off their lazy asses and turn on their PS3. I mean they have one, and they like the game but, they refuse to play it. It's mind boggling.
@Theoutlet: really? damn we, as gamers, owe it to our culture to get them off their asses...KZ2 is Amazing...I love Live and wish that PSN is one day as good, but damn...really? that lazy?
I want this game to be good. And really, half of what made the old games awesome was the over the top gore. Chainsawing dead babies or midgets or whatever those things were, then chainsawing a beating heart and making blood come down the entire screen? It's so over the top it's great. All those exploding monsters and headless enemies that are headless because you punched off their heads but they keep fighting anyway? I loved it. Question is...can you get away with that sort of ludicrous horror gore in a game anymore? The obvious answer might appear to be yes, since we've done it before and we've seen what games like GTA and God of War do, but back in the day, the Splatterhouse games were about pushing the limits of what was acceptable. To be truly memorable, it'd have to do it again. And if they do...well, bring a good umbrella to shelter yourself from the shitstorm.
Ok before everyone amasses their horde with pitchforks at Namco let's see what the real story is first.
Not saying they're right in what they did as it's really distasteful but maybe they had a good reason.
In any case, there's going to be new news concerning this in the next couple of days.
Also, wouldn't this violate some sort of contractual agreement? This is the first time I've heard of something like this so I don't know the specifics but these things are mostly done on a per project basis right?
If this were true I wonder if Namco would include them in the game credits?
This just goes to show that the Afro Samurai guys play better office politics than the BR guys. Doesn't mean they're better for the job; just means their lips are browner. Yeah, there's going to be an official story behind it all, but you can't possibly tell me that wasn't a factor.
That's utter bullshit. That must be painful for those developers at bottlerocket. Their first big release, and its taken from them at finish, for the credit to go to some wankers who did nothing of significance to the project besides steel it.
I'd have to say, unless Namco comes up with a pretty good response, I'll wait to get the game on the used game market. I was going to pre-order, but not if the development team is getting raped of the proceeds.

I'm failing to see why they yanked a "nearly complete" product from under their noses.
And I smell another "Greatest Depression" post for the BR employees.

Well, it's not their first big release as the also made Mark of Kri and Rise of the Kasai, but my heart still goes out to them
