More Crazy-Ass Chinese Ports (Titanic, Mario, LotR)

Final Fantasy VII on the NES? Tip of the iceberg. This site has a massive catalogue of other bootleg, Chinese homebrew carts, nearly all of them based on existing game series or movie tie-ins. Link to the Past on NES? Got it. A Lord of the Rings 2D fighter? Got it. Super Mario World on Mega Drive? Yup. A Titanic platformer for the NES? Got that too, and it's amazing.

Scary, Scary Mario Bros. Bootlegs

One Hong Kong retailer gives us a taste of just what Mario and Luigi would look like if Miyamoto went mad and decided to co-brand the franchise with Nightmare on Elm Street flicks. Seriously, these plush toys are freaky—we're talking clown freaky, or even Cher's cheeks no longer move when she talks, freaky (people still listen to Cher, right?). Plus, we're finding it more than a little gross that the curtains don't match the nose drapes, if you know what we mean.

Thanks Andy, sorry I called you Jason!

Those jokes about the Sonya PS3 didn't seem so far-fetched. Wonderland posted this photograph of the actual article (from a Flickr photostream by Crys) - so if anyone's stranded in China with no DS charger, fear not: it's Ninetudo to the rescue.

These DS Bootlegs Are Chinese for "Crappy"

Don't criminals take pride in their work anymore? Geez, with shoddy labels like that, you'd have to be Amish to think these DS cartridges are real. And even then, that's a stretch. These faker than fake bootleg DS games have surfaced in China and are on a slow barge to your nearest used-game retailer. More »
