Sure, Japan got them first, but here in North America we get the pink and blue Wii remotes on a day perfect for spreading love through pleasantly colored video game accessories. The two new colors come packaged in Nintendo's unique protective sleeve, which brings to mind intimate toys while also serving as a reminder about safe sex, while the bundled Wii Motion Plus accessory is perfect for reminding your loved one that just swinging it around randomly is only fun until someone loses an eye.

The announcement didn't specifically mention price, but we can assume they'll be in line with the current Wii remote / Motion Plus bundles at $49.99, or $54.99 at GameStop. Where's the love, GameStop?

<![CDATA[This Blue Dragon 'Shu' Mascot Is Really Creepy]]> Konami was staging tournaments and demos for their Blue Dragon Role Playing Card Game at their booth. Stalking the aisles was this Shu mascot, which did nothing but startle everyone.

I'm not sure what it is about "life-like" Anime mascots. Maybe it's the blank stare or the irregular combination of human and cartoon anatomy, but I can't help but feel weirded out all the time.

I actually challenge the Shu-wannabe to a game (which I knew nothing about), but it turns out the person inside the constume doesn't know how to play either. Shame.

<![CDATA[The Original Xbox Logo Was Blue (No Surprise)]]> When most of us think "Xbox," we think green, or, "sickly green" as it was recently described to me by Microsoft's marketing team from Wunderman. And it's an important point, since green has been the unifying theme between Xbox and Xbox 360...as well as between Xbox and Halo, where we see the color shared by the box's "X" and Master Chief himself.

But green wasn't always intended to be this sort of go-to color for the Xbox. Originally it was blue, as seen in this logo from a pre launch Xbox shirt. Crazy, isn't it? But Microsoft choosing between blue and green is cliché to their track record that it's almost funny. You don't know what I mean? Hit the jump for some photo proof:

<![CDATA[The Blue and White DS Zelda Mod]]> dsbluemod.jpg I always like seeing a nice mod and one that goes to benefit a charity always wins extra points with me. Ebay seller page8205 has created this lovely sky blue and white DS lite case mod complete with Legend of Zelda crest and mini LED lights. Now before you get all excited and start bidding, please be aware this auction takes place in Australia, but they will send to the US and several other countries. Currently, there are six days left and with three bidders, the price is at a reasonable $255. Once the auction is over, 15% of the profits will go to one of my favorite charities, Penny Arcade's Child's Play. Always nice to see gamers doing good.

<![CDATA[First Code Lyoko Wii Screens]]> Code Lyoko for the Wii is heading our way in October, and the folks at Game Factory have just released the first screenshots showing the kids from Kadic Junior High School in action. Enough to make we hunt for my old Eiffel 65 MP3. Da ba dee da ba die. Good luck getting that out of your head.

<![CDATA[Korean Brain Age Hits Snags]]>

For English speakers, it was the word "blue." Brain Age just didn't like it. But what about for Korean folks? The game just launch there and is apparently having localization issues as well. According to The Korea Times:

The game is supposed to recognize spoken words in some of exercises, but some words rarely register correctly. Also, when you write your answers on the touch screen, the machine sometimes confuses similar Korean words and numbers such as 9 and 0, 7 and 9, and 6 and 0.

Korean readers, we feel your pain. We really, really do.

<![CDATA[Pink, Blue and Silver PSPs Hitting Japan]]>

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that they would be bringing three new colors to Japan's PSPs. Pink, blue and silver will join the white and black PSPs already being sold there. Prices will remain unchanged. The pink hits on Nov. 22, silver on Dec. 14 and blue on Dec. 22. Now to see if anyone has the berries to export them.

<![CDATA[Sony Hoarding Blue Lasers for PS3]]>

Ee hee hee! I like the headline "Shortage of Blue Lasers". It makes me feel like I'm living in the neon-grit future that I crave, instead of this obese, mooing present.

Anyway, now that everyone is making or planning to make HD-DVD and Blu-ray drives, the laser supply is taking a strain. Blue laser diodes, which both HD DVD and Blu-ray use, are difficult to manufacture. The yield rates for the things are not increasing much, even though the demand for them is. But Sony's got our back!

This puts Sony in particular in quite a bind. Sony has obviously invested quite a bit in the Blu-ray format and the company would very much like consumers to pick up a Blu-ray player and not an HD DVD player or the HD DVD peripheral for Microsoft's Xbox 360. In order to make sure that the Blu-ray enabled PlayStation 3 does not run into any further problems, Sony has actually suspended shipments of blue laser diodes to other customers so that the components can be used for PS3 manufacturing first.

Hoarding all the blue lasers for the gamers, eh Sony? That's the girl I married!

<![CDATA[Chun-Li, Real Life Panty Fighter]]>

This is the only picture we can show you on the top page (the risque NSFW stuff is after the jump). Akihabara's favorite cosplayer ANGELLINE has just released a few photo CD-ROMs that feature her dressed as Street Fighter's Chun-Li and doing an endless series of high kicks. It's not porn per se, but rather, a clinical look at her underpants. And yes, they're blue.
