Geometry Wars 2 Coming Next Month, Pass The Time With These Screens
Now being published by Activision (Bizarre's new masters), Geometry Wars 2 is looking great. Also looking exactly the same as the first one (though perhaps with a touch more pastel hues), but then, I guess that's what they were after. Messing with near-perfection tends only to lead to trouble. Geometry Wars 2 will be available on Xbox Live Arcade on August 6. More » -

Spoilers: Limbo of the Lost's Terrifying Ending
Ok, so don't hit play if you don't want to spoil the ending of Limbo of the Lost, the game accused of grand theft assets from a lot of different games. Reader Ryan M. tipped us off to the two videos, the one above and the one that implies that there could be more Limbo in store; over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Kieron Gillen notes that "The pianist is possibly the scariest thing I’ve seen in my life." I'm simply left speechless. -

Goodbye, Project Gotham Racing 4, You Will Be Missed
I'm going to level with you: Project Gotham Racing 4 is my favourite racing game of all time. Hands down. Yes, other games feature more content, and yes, other games are more "realistic", but you know, I don't care. They can't match it for visual flair, they can't match it for sound design, and they definitely can't match the total package of making me feel like I'm strapped inside a ridiculously expensive sports car. So it's with tears welling in the corner of my eyes that I read Bizarre have said there's no more content on the way for the game, at least from them (and, really, nobody else will bother). So it's done. That's it. Not surprising, when you consider Bizarre are now paid by Activision, but still. It's final, and as such, it's saddening. Because it's the final nail in the coffin of a game that lived too fast and died too young. More » -

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 Has Been Rated
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2—an unannounced game—has gotten a rating by the OFLC (think Australian ESRB). We'll let your brain go through all the implications for a moment. And then we'll say it. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 appears to actually exist. Also of note, the title is designated as "multi platform" in the description. Does that mean we'll see the sequel on PSN...or maybe a portable? Possibly. More » -

Bubble Wrap Stress Relief Coming To WiiWare
Forget Styrofoam peanuts. Who cares about scrunched up newspaper? Bubble wrap is the packing medium that all the cool kids are playing with nowadays, and Bandai Namco is joining in the fun with their new WiiWare title coming to Japan this spring, Ouchide Mugen Puti Puti. The game, based on this kooky toy, is planned to include 40 unique levels, two player mode, and a mind test mode for checking your stress levels. So why pay 800 points for a WiiWare game, when you can play things like Virtual Bubble Wrap online for free? The Wiimote will help recreate the sound and feel of popping bubble wrap, with none of the disappointment of running out of the real stuff! More » -

Weird Timewaster of the Day: '... Not Lovesick Zombies'
The title would actually be alarmingly these are not lovesick zombies but it's certainly weird. Bizarre. Absurd. And I spent precious, precious free time puzzling over this little game/art/thing instead of um. Doing something else that probably would've been more productive. It's a pretty basic point & click shooting-type game, but with weird backgrounds, creepy zombie things, oogy flashes of text like 'your clothes want to DIE!' while you're playing, and even snippets of video rambling about game design (supposedly) after you win a level. I think it's always nice to get a look at the people who have the time to dedicate to this stuff. The game is actually quite a bit less strange (in some sensense) than Jason Nelson's other game/art/thing ... thing, game, game, game and again game, though I found bouncing a weird fuzzy little blob around the screen and to doors a more satisfying bizarre gaming experience overall, such as they are. alarmingly these are not lovesick zombies -

Project Gotham Racing 4 Impressions
Being a big fan of PGR3, despite being a lousy driver, I was definitely looking forward to Project Gotham Racing 4. The addition of bikes was cool when I heard about it last week, but didn't seem like anything totally revolutionary to me. But if you take the bikes and combine them with all the changes to the game engine, PGR4 seems to be changed just enough so that people who have the previous version will want to grab the new version as well. Bizarre's PGR 3 Reject Races For Charity
Bizarre Creations, the developer responsible for Project Gotham Racing, is driving crappy cars across Europe. Ironic yes, but it's all to raise money for charity. Dubbed the "Scumball Rally 3000," the 4-day Vanishing Point-style drive will take fearless Bizarre staffers across Europe. Cool wheels, and the bullet holes are a nice touch. Check out more pics after the jump. More »
