Mmmm....this looks a little too Prince/Spliter/Assasins to me. It feels more like a tech demo for a games engine rather than any actual BG&E footage.
It won't be gameplay, it'll be a demo reel if it is Jade, but the inclusion of machine guns and putting into a real world setting when the first wasn't on Earth would be a strange desicion.
It would also be a shame if she has lost the camera as that was a nice aspect to the first game. It does have a feel about it akin Mirror's Edge (created by DICE, seporate company.) Which I think would also detract from Jade and her story. Yet this is only a minute clip, it's hardly going to make sense without context.
I am wishing it to be a tech demo for Ubisofts new game engine, that will be used in their games such as Persia, Creed and Splinter. It's been proven that very different games can come from the same engine and it would be much cheaper for Ubisoft to come up with one that would suit it's major sellers and it's long awaited ones, rather than using seporate games engines for all their titles.
Man, this does look pretty cool, as most teasers do. I'll bet it was purposefully leaked to get people pumped for it, and their announcement during E3 that it's coming next year. Here's to hoping!
If that is the new game, I don't want it. B,G+E was never about that kind of gameplay - this is what pretty much every other game is like. I 'aint dodging snipers, I want to take photos of wierd and wonderful creatures and go on brilliant adventures, not run about in some generic earthy war-torn landscape.
@liveinabin: There's a post about three up from yours, showcasing a bit like this one from BGE where Jade runs from the fuzz. Also, that looks like a pretty standard third-world city to me, albeit with more people trying to kill you.
I really don't care flying monkey butt if it's in-game or not! WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT THAT?
What I care about is WILL UBISOFT 100% CONFIRM THAT BG&E IS HAPPENING? Hints from Ancel don't matter! Nor a teaser trailer that was done by a team on their own time...what I want: Confirm it Ubisoft. Give us an actual trailer. You know you want to - give us another Ancel game, and it will be amazing.
when Beyond Good and Evil turned out like half-life 2 meets Assassin's Creed in a cartoony dystopian world? o.O
well it looks interesting, but it's an ubisoft game so there will be disappointment. And there will be tons of tutorials even during the end game boss.
That's got to be Jade there, she's got the same clothes, hairdo and that dai-jo staff. If that's in game footage, wow, looks like fun. I'm going to have to scrounge up my copy of Beyond Good and Evil, it was just an unfortunate case of an amazing game that hardly anyone bought.
Looks like the concept for Mirrors Edge. I didn't see any aliens running around and the world looks like it's set on Earth (India) what with the cows walking in the streets and all. The Helicopter technology is very much like our own as well. More like a gyro-copter though.
This trailer looks way too good to be gameplay, but if this is the direction that Ubisoft are going for, I hope they can keep that fluidity in the actual game.
The graphics themselves could be in-engine, though. It's just the flow that seems too stunning compared to anything we've seen this generation.
@big isy: Except the protagonist looks nothing like Ruby & everything like Jade, and what you took for a sword is strikingly similar to Jade's daï-jo from the first game.

It's been announced already. Click the hyperlink in the above post for the original Kotaku story.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been officially acknowledged by Ubisoft for quite some time now...

I call BS on that being in-game footage, but only because I just soiled myself.

Ubi messed up by releasing it without any promotion at the same time as Prince Of Persia. But the game itself was - and still is - golden.
As long as they let Ancel do his thing without interfering, we should be alright.

Just way to derevative and 'safe' to be remotely interesting. I've seen this same game about a dozen times in the past year.

I doubt that this is Beyond Good and Evil.
