@SueursFroides: I'm glad someone else here noticed how great the sounds in BF:BC were :). I'm glad it received praise for it, as it was well deserved. #battlefieldbadcompany2
I just hope that they don't drop the wicked sense of humor from the first Bad Company. It was one of the biggest things I loved about it. #battlefieldbadcompany2
*sigh* really wish they had the beta for the 360 as well, I really don't want to get it for my PS3 as I hate the controller when it comes to FPS. Oh well, we'll get the demo down the road!=P #battlefieldbadcompany2
@jojo13jojo233: I was referring to the beta, which is a PS3 exclusive you can get by preordering. I'll definitely be playing the demo, for 360, as I'll be getting the game on that system since I prefer shooters with the 360 controller. #battlefieldbadcompany2
I don't play shooters on my PS3 often but it helped tons in Uncharted 1/2 and Killzone 2. I haven't tested it out online much though as I rarely play a PS3 game online, aside from Burnout Paradise that is.
The only downside is unless the game allows you to swap controls you will have to swap the use of the triggers and bumpers. (The main reason for my lack of online play testing) It sucks, but so far the only game I have had to do that with is Uncharted 1/2. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@Kang81: The site only mentions wired controllers, I only have wireless controllers=( Also, if I can't use the 360 triggers for shooting/etc then there's really no point in putting that much money down, at least for me=( Thanks for the info though! #battlefieldbadcompany2
I did forget to mention that it required a wired controller, oops.
Again, if the individual game allows you to swap controls then you should be fine. I know for a fact that Battlefield 1943 doesn't allow this, but I'm not sure about Bad Company. I'd have to fire the game up to see what the control options were.
Still, it is quite a bit of money for one game, but I really love the Uncharted series. :) #battlefieldbadcompany2
I just wrote a couple paragraphs on some of the things that make BF not as fun to me as other shooters, but then I decided just to erase it. It's sad when you'd rather not start a discussion at all, than take the inherent risk of stating an opinion on a beloved game. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@velvet396: I think betas are good pre-order bonuses, but not demos. It's a nice way for companies to reward people who are supporting them. Also, people who pre-order are more likely to be constructive during the beta. I agree with you on the fact that demos shouldn't be pre-order bonuses, though. #battlefieldbadcompany2
Battlefield series over Call of Duty series every time.
I was pleasantly surprised by Bad Company when I got to play it, despite originally scoffing at it being a console BF entry. I'm really looking forward to Bad Company 2, especially considering it's getting a PC release and the way IW has been handling MW2.
EDIT: What the hell, are greater than/less than signs now just unusable in regular writing on Kotaku?

Anyone know exactly why they're releasing the follow up to my favorite game of this generation on everything *but* my Xbox360?
Is there a technical reason behind this, or something a little more shady..
EDIT: Sorry. Forgot to mention that I'm talking about the release of the BETA here. I'm aware the full game and demo will be made available to the 360. Mea culpa .<
@(Zombie) Cursa: The game is on all three systems. The beta is on PS3 (Bad Company 1's beta was on 360, if you remember), followed by a PC beta next month and finally a full multiplayer demo for all three systems next year.
They just want to focus on PS3 first, probably because like most sane multiplatform developers, they know it's smarter to optimize the code for the PS3 and then port to the other two systems than it is to finish the 360 version first and port to the other two, which never produces optimal results. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@Archaotic: Yeah, my apologies - I failed to mention that I was talking about the beta for BC2, but thank you for going on to answer my question anyway. #battlefieldbadcompany2
Visuals are actually surprisingly good; game looks considerably better than MW2 in the graphics department, at least.
Gameplay-wise, though, I dunno. I haven't played any of the Battlefield games to a serious degree since my entire floor freshman year ran a LAN game of Battlefield 1942 over the campus network by passing one person's disc around to each person, letting them boot the map, then passing it to the next guy.
On Hard, the Battle of Normandy took us SIX HOURS to beat, but it was the most epic thing ever. But after something like that you kinda just burn out on a franchise, y'know? #battlefieldbadcompany2
@mangs: Everything I've seen of MW2 is very ugly looking; generic, badly animated character models, blocky visual design...just not a visually impressive game at all.
Looking at the commercials for MW2 that air on TV every friggin' night, and looking at this trailer, it's very clear which one looks better in my mind. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@Archaotic: Fair enough. I hated Resistance 2 cause it had PATHETICALLY bad animation for the characters. Reminded me of Half-Life 1. I'll keep an eye open for that downside of MW2. #battlefieldbadcompany2
@avgbear: Plus for some reason even the whole idea of creating a squad, and having it "hold together" from game to new game was really screwed up.
Was a real pain in the neck to try and get friends all on the same team/squad, and then after finishing a round/map/game the thing would go and put us on separate sides for the next round.
@Stymie99: I somehow doubt your squad will stay together between matches, seeing how they hadn't fixed it for BF:1943 either. Unless they were just too lazy to use new code over the code from BFBC.
That said, I enjoyed the single player of BFBC more than that of CoD4 while CoD4's campaign was more tense. But perhaps that was just due to the switching of the character you played as. #battlefieldbadcompany2
