It wants a slice of that sweet video game accessories revenue, announcing four controller charging stations in advance of CES '09.

Why simply buy rechargeable AAs when you can enjoy the luxury of dedicated charging stations? Plugging your mini-USB cable into the top of your DualShock 3 is so late 2006! Energizer implores you to buy one of its "Power & Play" charging systems, for your Wii Remote, Xbox 360 controller and PlayStation 3 controller recharging needs.

It even touts a dedicated Wii Fit charging station, but doesn't provide photos. Perhaps the company just wants to get the keywords "Wii Fit" into its press release. Regardless, we'll be hunting down Energizer public relations reps while in Las Vegas to find out just why one would need such a thing.

Naughty pics of controllers being recharged after this.

<![CDATA[Xbox 360 Controller Has Best Battery Life? Maybe.]]> GamePro tested all the latest wireless controllers to discover which had the best battery life, the Xbox 360 pad, the Wiimote or the SIXAXIS. After playing a variety of titles, they found that the Xbox 360 controller's battery life of 56 hours and 56 minutes bested the 36 hours and 43 minutes of the Wiimote and the 18 hours and 41 minutes of the SIXAXIS.

If the numbers appear tough to swallow, that's only because they are. Not to insult GamePro's testing methods, but our readers should know that one attempt at a control skewed these results in a major way.

In order to offer each console a fighting chance, testers installed nickel cadmium Duracell batteries...minus the SIXAXIS, which has Lithium Ion built right in. But the numbers are still pretty interesting if you siphon away the contest aspect.

UPDATE: Ahh, got my info backwards. Thanks for pointing it out.

<![CDATA[Nyko Wiimote Charger Reduced To $20]]> Cheapassgamer has pointed out that the Nyko Wiimote charger has been reduced by 33% on Amazon (and we're guessing some other retailers, too.) At a recent get together, our friends watched in anguish as I picked up each of my four Wiimotes, only to find they were all out of batteries from their auto-on-with-any-movement settings. This Nyko charger holds two 'motes and includes batteries. IGN reviewed it quite highly and I'll be ordering mine later today...now to find another plug around my entertainment center...

<![CDATA[Thank Thanko For Wii Recharger]]>

Look how happy that lady is! She can now recharge her Wii-mote and never worry about buying batteries again. A rather pricey 3,480 yen (US $29) includes a charger that connects to the Wii and two AA lithium ion batteries. Charge time is three hours, but the batteries are good for 25 hours. Though, that new charger doesn't seem nearly as neat as this one from last December. If you want endless Wii gaming, guess you gotta pay for it.
