Hey, that Magna Carta 1 sure was too mediocre a game to warrant a sequel.
Lets hope that the 'completely new battle system' makes it worth a damn. I wanted to like the game - I'm a huge fan of Hyung Tae - but pretty art can only do so much.
@the7k: You're looking at this the complete wrong way. First just because you didn't like the game doesn't mean no one else does (and therefore it's obviously a sequel for fans), secondly there's tons of average games with sequels like Killzone. KZ2 turned out great so why not give other games a chance? Then finally your assuming it doesn't deserve the chance to carry on the series which it probably does.
Fans of Hyung Tae, sure. I'm a Hyung Tae fan and own at least two artbooks that prominently feature his art. Fan of this game? Not by a long shot.
My point here is that the game is going to have to have more going for it that pretty artwork. If the sequel can manage to be more than that, good for it. Based on the first game, however, they'll have to prove it in a big way.
@PearceShea: The battle system of the first is one of my biggest complaints. It's just overly complex and frustrating. The game itself would be very easy were it not mind numbingly frustrating.
I don't expect RPGs these days to have great stories and be great at telling it... but I also don't expect to buy most RPGs. I only pick from the top shelf. If the game wants to be perfectly average, then good for it. I, however, expect a bit more ambition.
@Joecyl Glen Sanchez: The SRW series has always SD-sized the robots anyway. If they made all the robots actual size, certain robots would be big enough to have their head alone take up the entire map.
Hey, aren't Reiji and Xiaomu from Namco x Capcom? Awesome. I was about to say the map stuff looked kind of disappointing but then the battle system kicked in with its "massive wonders" and now I'm sold.

There is, but it'll be Japanese only.

Bestest battle system? Or boobest?

I'm glad these characters actually managed to make it to another series, I was afraid they'd end up confined to NxC.
