    Fallout 3 is definitely my 2008 Game of the Year. I can't think of any other recent game where I plugged in so many hours of playing, especially with 3 distinctly different playthrough characters. Also I paid $50 in some of the best DLC ever released, aside from the craptacular Mothership Zeta that held so much potential. Definitely a game that gave me more gameplay for the $110 I spent on it! #goldenjoystickawards

    @Opuelas: Something actually fun to play maybe? With a story that doesnt suck, and NPC's that arent robots. I am enjoying Borderlands a million times more than Fallout 3. #goldenjoystickawards

    @F0ntaine: Notice that this year still has 2 months left.
    GOTY awards start from a few months in, so it was within 09's range. I think it was from September to September iirc.

    Edit: someone below has pointed out its May to May.
    Which I guess sounds right. I know I voted in early October, and I nominated some time before that.

    Does it seem like cheating to anyone else that a Guitar Hero game won soundtrack of the year? Several years ago an award like that woulda meant something... in this case it's more like "best music licensing deal for a game... of the year" #goldenjoystickawards

    @MasterYong: Total cheat. Best soundtrack should go to original compositions that accompany gameplay, not the gameplay itself. Also, Invincible Tiger - Best Soundtrack for a game ever. #goldenjoystickawards

    "4) Only games released between 22nd May 2008 and 22nd May 2009 are eligible for inclusion in the main categories of this year’s awards.

    5) The exceptions are:

    The One to Watch award covers games which have been announced for release after 22nd May 2009.

    The Online Award which covers PC multiplayer gaming and can include MMOs already released."

    Considering the date range used, it is not surprising that last year's huge franchises won over most Q1 and Q2 titles. #goldenjoystickawards

    I can't even figure out which year they're talking about. CoD: WaW, L4D, Gears 2, LBP, and GH:WT = 2008. GTA Chinatown Wars and Killzone 2 = 2009. #goldenjoystickawards

    @grantanamo: Yeah, I was shocked at that too. I still don't get what people see in Killzone 2. To me, it's just a good looking but mediocre shooter with bad controls and low FPS count.

    @AsheR: I know! That's just really fucked up. The worst thing is that this will probably just help to reinforce Koticks plans for the industry. #goldenjoystickawards

    @-MasterDex-: I loved K2 as a game in and of itself (so much so that I even beat it on elite). But MGS4 is literally one of the greatest games of all time. It still amazes me how few GOTY awards it won. I guess it shows my continuing separation from what the gaming industry is becoming. #goldenjoystickawards
