Has a song ever made you buy a video game? I might have never picked up Nippon Ichi Software’s 2003 tactics RPG Disgaea: Hour of Darkness if not for the punk rock tune Atlus decided to use for the U.S. translation.
Atlus has become one of my favorite video game publishers over the past few years. Not only do they localize almost every role-playing game they develop, they always show a willingness to take risks on crazy ideas—something that is very rare in the gaming industry.
Any good video game trailer should tell us what the game in question is all about. In the case of Atlus USA's upcoming downloadable game Rock of Ages, this is a game about a rock smashing stuff. All kinds of stuff. Big stuff, small stuff... all of the stuff.
