@Ganglor: Have you played the demo? For about another 5-10 bucks you essentially have a full game, and you didn't have to pay for all of the crap songs you don't care to hear.
It's not a joke at all; I would prefer all of my music games to be delivered in a pick and choose manner, actually.
@Omnimon: Calling it a demo just makes me laugh only because the employee at Best Buy who sold it to me was so adamant about call it a "lite version." Anyway, I see where you are coming from, it's just that right next to the PSPgo I bought, there was a PSP-3000 with the full retail version of Rock Band Unplugged and a memory stick for about $80 less. Also you could download the actual demo that has three playable songs for free off of PSN. So in reality it's as though we were given the demo with two bonus songs and the ability to buy DLC...Hooray?
@Ganglor: Haha, seriously? Lite version? I suppose it's a demo presented in a different way, as all of the framework is there (cities, etc), just limited song choice.
I get your point, but I already had a PSP 3000. I bought the PSPGo for my own purposes, and none of them had to do with comparative cost/benefit analysis against PAL regions, keeping my PSP 3000, or what Putin might think... if you catch my drift.
I really can't control what Sony's going to do in different regions, so I tend not to get too worked up about it. It would be nice if it were equal across the board, but if it's not, screaming on the interwebs isn't going to change it.
Ah, thank you Sony for giving me no more reason to upgrade from my 1001 and 2001 series. For someone who would like very much to lock us all into DLC pricing, your doing a rather poor job of baiting the hook.
@GAMIE64: I dont know what to get, Creed or Motorstorm, hmm, I've got GT so do I really need motorstorm? then again, i've not finished the first Creed so is there much point in getting that...
@Blore07: AC-fanboy that i am, i'm getting creed. If it was between Motorstorm and GT, it would've been GT, because the driving mechanics of Motorstorm really piss me off.
As for you though, i think you should get Motorstorm. AC-PSP has its faults, as i've read. And as fanboy, you could look past them and focus on story and the assassiation-mechanics. But I don't think someone new to the series should begin with AC-PSP. Get the original for PS3 or 360 first!
god i wish they would bundle something decent here in the US... its curious that the territories run different promotions like this, are they not all under one umbrella?
@fozfan33: SCEA, SCEE and SCEJ. There are a few other scattered divisions I believe for other regions but those are the big 3 (North America, Europe and Japan). They kind of work independent from each other which is why stuff like this ends up happening (such as the different Stores getting different stuff).
@fozfan33: Within each branch, they're fine. But when it comes to marketing and the like, they're near worlds apart but this just seems with the higher ups.
The studios themselves seem to work better together than the execs as they share a lot of development info, although I kind of wish they picked up titles better. SCEA/SCEE don't always pick up the titles that SCEJ publishes (case in point, the most recent Demon's Souls which had to be localized by Atlus) and vice versa for last gen (think Capcom had to publish God of War over in Japan).
SCEJ doesn't have many studios compared to the others though, although 2 of Sony's best teams are under them (Polyphony & Team ICO). They've said they're looking to address that though and get SCEJ up to speed (SCEJ's other studios seem to have shifted to PSP this gen so they're looking to change that).
Holy F- that's brilliant!
But are we sure it works for existing PSPgo owners who already downloaded the Promotion Theme, since it's still the same theme and not a new one? I re-downloaded it, I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Also: cry me a fucking river, North America.
It'll take more than a couple of PSP games to make up for all the shit we have to put up with here in PAL country. How much did you pay for your Rock Band bundles again?
@High Speed Indeed: To be honest, it's about time the EU got something for them. I've lost count how many times promotions like this have been US only. D:
I thought this game was pretty good for a PSP title. It featured everything I liked in Assassin's Creed: brutal, satisfying combos, impressive inverse kinematics in climbing animations, music by Jesper Kyd - while fixing some of the things I hated in Assassin's Creed: improved emphasis on stealth gameplay, GTA-style game progression (no more of this 'do 10 pickpocket missions before you kill someone') and the "blend" button doesn't make you ENTIRELY invisible anymore (although it's still got nothing on AC2's blending).
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but the level designs feel a little more Prince of Persia-esque. If you ask me, I'd say this PSP Assassin's Creed is more fun to play than the original console one.
I don't think it should be compared to Chains of Olympus.
Sure it's a ''part of the story'' PSP version of a hit game but still. God of War is a hack'em slash'em mash'em fighter while Assassin's Creed goes a little subtler. In God of War there is no camera control but in Assassin's Creed there is more of a need to control the camera. In God of War all the face buttons save one serve for combat.
Ok, so I was only comparing them camera and control-wise, but I mean come on!
@Donutta: [Spoiler that has no impact on the game] He allegedly hid (a) Piece of Eden there.
Information in AC2 would also hint it's where he spent the last of his day
If you just tap the Left shoulder button, it re-centers the camera and once you get the hang of that, the gameplay flows a whole lot better than if you hold it and try to manipulate it with the face buttons.
@G-Blob: There are a few nods to Bloodlines in AC2, but not having played it myself either, I had no trouble following the story of the sequel. Basically everything that needs to be explained from Bloodlines is explained, without the game actually being spoiled.
