Thats got to be one of the worst pieces of promotional artwork for a game Ive ever seen. Putting a sideshow carnival crossdresser on the front doesnt scream "Darklord". Neither does the fact that one side looks like an emo punk rocker and the other is wearing a God damn pink tutu. It should be called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a Tranny
@Crash__Man: I wish they'd return to the series' roots a lot more often. I would certainly love it if they made another game like Final Fantasy IX for their next one. Sadly, FFXIV is just an MMO.
Warning: If you don't intend to buy more DLC, my life as a darklord is fairly hard once you get a fair way in. A fair bit of the DLC is there to make it easier. Also fun, the Europe version of the game, [if you downloaded it on friday at least, they may have fixed it] gives you access to a LOT more DLC than has been listed in this kotaku article, at least.
To give you an idea how much, it was over 4000 wii points worth.
Edit: Dang I thought i hit the edit button. Anyway, there are different costumes for the main character, including ones based off other final fantasy games [including sherlotta from Echoes of time, and 2 more whose name I can't remeber], more NP items that essentially do nothing but make the game slightly easier [and it's getting pretty hard right now without any of it], more versions of monsters to summon [aka items that should have bene unlockables have been ripped out and you have to buy them instead] and finally a further 2 story scenarios are included for 500 wii points each.
And frankly, I've always preferred the Crystal Chronicles games to regular Final Fantasy. The graphics of the original were probably the best the 'Cube ever saw, and they were pretty damn impressive.
Has Nintendo ever released and WiiWare sales figures? I skimmed through the WiiWare titles last night for the first time in months. I am familiar with a handful of titles, but everything else is foreign to me.
The general unfamiliarity of WiiWare games and the lack of demos/trials leads me to believe WiiWare has, to this point, been a pretty big failure.
One thing Microsoft definately got right this generation was implementing a mandatory trial option for every XBLA/XNA game. Sony and Nintendo really need to implement the same thing.
@Bii Nii Wii Nii Live from the Show-Me-State: Nope, figures have never been released, but I believe WiiWare has generally been a success. Just because you aren't familiar with it doesn't mean it's a failure.
Some games have done really well, like World of Goo, where 60% of the revenue for that game came from WiiWare (other 40% from Steam / PC). Defend Your Castle, My Life As A King, Mega Man 9 have also done well. Others haven't done so well.
@pslong9: Done well? According to who? Sources would be nice. And I understand me being unfamiliar doesn't mean its unfamiliar to everyone.
I'm just stating my opinion and offering details as to how I formed my opinion that WiiWare has been a bust.
Wii's install base demographics + majority of WiiWare is 3rd party shovelware + Little to NO marketing, lack of demos/trials = My opinion that, thus far, WiiWare has been an absolute bust.
@Bii Nii Wii Nii Live from the Show-Me-State: Someone on NeoGAF compiled these statistics from the Nintendo Channel. Note that this is from the 2.3 million user sample, and US only:
Interestingly enough, vgchartz had some numbers up last week: [news.vgchartz.com]
Standard disclaimer: it's vg chartz and should be taken with a grain or three of salt. And I have no idea where they got the numbers. But they don't look ridiculous.
I love bust-a-move, but I can never convince myself to pick up a version newer than the first ps2 edition of the game. It sounds like this one has fewer features than the one I currently own, so I guess I'll pass.
@Methusalah: I remember many years ago, when I was little, my dad's friend lent us his PS1, and we went to rent games for it. I remember wanting Bust-A-Move, so when I rented it and took it home, imagine my horror when I found out I'd rented Bust-A-Groove... :(
I have a DS lite and I am embarrassed and ashamed to see download games on DSI are this bad it looks like a crappy phone game from 2002, Its good thing I didn't get a DSI and stay with a DS Lite

Have you even PLAYED any of the Art Style games? Obviously not, because if you had, you'd want a DSi.
The Art Style games are great, and worth the upgrade...Doctor Mario Express isn't half bad either. :3

The Art Style games
Is that some sort of "Graphics over Gameplay" dealie?
