I suppose you can cinch up the hood and create a semi-Spartan helmet visor look with it. Still, this garment seems to be more to be a demonstration of Big Brand A + Big Brand B = $$$$, rather than of street cred or gamer bonafides.

<![CDATA[Nike Thanks the PlayStation with 24 Pairs of Shoes]]> Nike sent a size 10 love note to Sony for past collaborations on console-themed kicks, but this series, based on the face buttons of a PlayStation controller, might be a little hard to find. Only 24 pairs will be made.

They also won't be sold to the general public. Ron Eagle, the director of product publicity for the PlayStation, said he got a call from Nike, who wanted to make him some PlayStation-themed shoes to say thanks for past collaboration and support. Eagle is a self-described "shoe guy," so of course the idea fired him up.

When I got the call and was told that they wanted to make a shoe, of course the first thing I asked was … what kind? They told me they were working on a new training shoe, one that would be technically very advanced, but would harken back to some of the great training shoes from their past, like the ones worn by Bo Jackson and John McEnroe. As soon as they said the word McEnroe – I was completely sold as the original Air Trainer 1, is one of my all time favorite shoe designs and something I remember wearing to school.

It started from there, asking me about favorite colors, and anything that I did or didn't like. The designers are just so good at taking input and making really slick creative choices, that when the line drawings come over, I'm just stunned. As you already know, we like to do things that haven't been done or are totally unique and that was one of the things that the guys at Nike knew that they wanted to do when they asked me what I liked.

Sony and Nike teamed up on highly sought-after Air Force One designs in 2006 and in 2009. Eagle said in those efforts, "we were working toward something with the other shoes. ... This being a "thank you" it could have been so many things – yet the guys at Nike got that it should be unique and it makes it very special to me because of that."

Doesn't sound like they'll hit eBay anytime soon. You can see more of the designs over at the link.

<![CDATA[God of War Shirts, Heavenly Sword Boxers, Others On Their Way]]> ivgear.JPG Sony today revealed that they have granted licensing agreements for some of their top games with four apparel companies. The result will be a slew of t-shirts, hats, boxers, even something called "loungewear" featuring the artistic stylings from such Playstation greats as God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword and Little Big Planet.

I can't friggin wait to lay about in my house wearing nothing more than a pair of LittleBigPlanet whitey-tighties under my silk God of War smoking jacket while I sip cognac and pass judgment on the gaming world.

IV Gear already has their list of games up, but no product pics yet.

So excited. List of companies and silly quotes on the jump.

<![CDATA[Tetris Skirt Makes Me Resent My Penis]]> Needless to say, men have it pretty good as far as general anatomical conveniences are concerned. But the trade-off of social stigmas regarding dress-wearing are starting to chafe now that we've found this Tetris skirt that goes for a mere $45 on Etsy. We recommend you find a girlfriend, relocate to Scotland, crush our post-Puritan social norms or, in the rare case that you are a actually a female who hasn't felt too ostracized by this post to stop reading by now, buy the skirt for yourself.

<![CDATA[Mass Effect T-Shirt Back In Stock]]> In news that may not matter to anyone but me, the Commander Shepard N7 armor t-shirt, originally created solely for the Mass Effect development team, has been out of stock since the game's launch. A quick visit to the Bioware store today and what do I find? Back in stock, baby.

Yes, the shirt may be the geekiest piece of apparel I've ever ordered, and no offense to the makers of the game or t-shirt, but I really wish that it were done without the Bioware or Mass Effect logos for a tad more subtlety/street cred. Still, fans who love the game as much as I do may enjoy this splurge purchase that only runs about $20 shipped.

<![CDATA[Custom Crochet 1-UP Mushroom Scarf]]> We've seen our share of Mario-related scarves here at Kotaku, but I've never seen one quite like this. It's the 1-UP mushroom, and unlike the knitted versions that make for your average scarf, this one is crochet. The scarf will set you back a cool $150, but it's hand crafted to order, so if green isn't your color, no worries. I do wonder if it's actually warm - but I guess something like this is more of a fashion statement than a utilitarian knit.

<![CDATA[Nintendo By Torrel Now Available]]> The Nintendo-licensed apparel by clothing brand Torrel that we told you about last month has formally launched, with an online store selling the Nintendo By Torrel line now live. The first line, which focuses on graphics lifted from Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario World, ranges from t-shirts at $50 to hoodies to jackets which top out at $200. Those who prefer to swim in their clothing will be quite comfortable, as the product runs up to XXXXL. Spindly wimps like myself who rock smalls in everything will be left cold, naked and wanting.

Anyone who has ever dreamed of owning a Donkey Kong 3 or Mach Rider t-shirt can stop asking why God has forsaken them. They're both at the Torrel online store right now.

<![CDATA[The Spore Dress]]>

Will Wright's SO was wearing a Spore dress, to his recent keynote at SXSW. Made by EA Germany, apparently, in a very limited edition for very, very close friends, but as she said, wouldn't it be nice if they made some more for general retail?

What would be completely awesome would be if you could have your own Sporelets printed on your own dress/pants/knickers.

Customisation is the way forward, merchandise people. That way. Forward.

<![CDATA[Wearable Alternate Reality Games?]]> edoclaundry.jpg

Ahh, novelty clothing. Sk8r gear with built in headphones/gamepads/anti-grav packs. And now, built-in ARGing.

EDOC Apparel will soon be selling gear embedded with puzzles, pictograms and the like. Go to the site, find your particular widget or logo or drawing, and unravel the associated clue. "Every piece of gear is a trapdoor into a hidden world", they say. Ooh!

That's all we know right now. Nice site too, doesn't bode too terribly for the clothes...

<![CDATA[Non-Playable Breakout Watch]]> fossilwatchbreakout.jpg

Again on the retro tip (and in slightly old news, but they've updated the pictures), Fossil have released this Breakout-themed watch. While the game isn't actually playable (boo) it's at least a watch that's wearable by adults who go to work. Unless you have the sort of job that means you can get away with wearing a vintage pink Nintendo Super Mario Bros watch, at which point we're really impressed.
