No game with that title has been announced by SCEA, but we can rather safely assume its the unreleased Ape Escape game Sarugetchu: SaruSaru Daisakusen that shipped in Japan in July of this year. That would make it the fifth Ape Escape game to make its way to the handheld, but only the third to eventually be published in North America.

Like many ESRB ratings, especially ones from SCEA, it might not see the light of day for a long time, if ever.

<![CDATA[Ape Escape Coming To Nicktoons]]> Ape Escape may have already gotten the anime treatment in Japan, but here in the States we'll be getting our first shots of Ape Escape animation in early 2008. Frederator Productions is teaming with Project 51, Hawaii Film Partners, and Showcase Entertainment to create a series of 38 2 minute long animated shorts based on the monkey bondage video game series. The shorts should begin airing in early 2008 on the Nicktoons network. Frederator has a production blog up gives some entertaining insight into the whole monkey business. Check it out!

<![CDATA[Ape Escape Hand Puppets Revealed!]]> Featured in such games as Ape Escape, EyeToy: Monkey Mania and, yes, even Metal Gear Solid 3, Sony's loveable apes have become icons for the PlayStation brand. Now, gamers can bring the apes to their own hands, with these two import-only Sarugetchu ape puppets from Taito.

Sporting head mounted warning lights and either maracas or bananas, the two appear to be of the "boxing nun" toy design, but may be require more dextrous, do-it-yourself hand motion. They're only $15 and ship in July from National Console Support, perfect for curing your summer gaming doldrums.

We'll be securing at least a half-dozen for any potential videos and executive interviews when we need the apes to ask the hard questions.

<![CDATA[Parappa Shilled for McDonald's]]>

Way before Burger King got in the video game business, there was the McDonald's PaRappa the Rapper game. Just check out a clip from back with Sony and McDonald's (now B.F.F. with Nintendo) were thick as theives. According to an old GameSpot article, the game was a PS2 demo that contined one-level versions of Ape Escape 2001 and PaRappa the Rapper 2. The game takes place in a McDonald's, complete with McDonald's logos shoehorned in. Yum!

<![CDATA[A PlayStation 2 Controller Fit for a Kid]]>

Little children have little hands. Using a standard PS2 controller can be more than a handful. Good thing there's the LiLiCON, a mini-controller for pint-sized players. Created by Japanese toy maker Happinet, the LiLiCON stands for "LIGHT&LITTLE CONTROLLER." There's also a turbo button to help along tikes that haven't mastered the fine art of button-mashing. The controller is covered with an Ape Escape and goes on sale July 13th, the same day Ape Escape: Million Monkeys drops. Fitting, because all children, like my son, are chimps.
