Capcom released the above Street Fighter IV trailer today, the one recently looped at the AOU arcade tradeshow in Tokyo, Japan. It may be your first look at characters like E. Honda, Blanka, Abel and Zangief in motion. The in-game action is interspersed with a remixed version of the Ken versus Ryu battle, with new footage of Chun-Li and Crimson Viper that spins the watercolor aesthetic seen in previous cinematics. The HD version at GameTrailers may give you a better appreciation for the game's animation. Thoughts?

<![CDATA[New Indiana Jones Prizes for Japanese Arcades]]> So has that new Indiana Jones trailer gotten you excited? Japanese arcades are all ready to pounce on that. Just check out this UFO catcher Indy merch. Throw the crane the whip, and it'll take your money and keep the idol! Or something. Heh.

Side note: While I am SUPER EXCITED about the movie, am I the only one who thought the trailer was so-so?

[Thanks, Jean!]

<![CDATA[Quick Street Fighter IV Hands-on Impressions]]> Street Fighter IV is playable. Today, the wait at the AOU arcade show hit 90 minutes to play the game hit 90 minutes. Keep in mind: This is on the business day. So, what's it like? Kotaku buddy Jean Snow was at AOU today and checked it out — even winning a perfect battle. Briefly, Jean tells us:

Controls were what you would expect from the game, nice and tight. But the graphics, oh man, they look soooooo nice! The backgrounds are incredibly detailed. If you look at them, you noticed all sorts of nice things. Like some letters were falling off a sign after a big attack. The entire game is an absolutely stunning package. You play on a widescreen high-res screen, and all the characters were beautifully rendered. Even the chest hair on the wrestler guy Zangief looked nice! It's one of the most beautiful, complete fighters I've seen. Ever.

Look for more in-depth impressions when we get hands on with the game at GDC.

[Thanks, Jean!]

<![CDATA[Pre-Openning AOU 2008 Images]]> Here we go! This appears to be the first pictures from the Japanese arcade AOU 2008 show floor. A lot of the pre-opening pics seem taken by Blurry McBlur. There are snaps of exhibits for Arcana Heart 2, DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu and Square Enix's Lord of Vermilion. More to come.

<![CDATA[Street Fighter IV Arcade Footage [UPDATED]]]>
Capcom are keeping a fairly tight leash on people snapping pics and vids on the AOU 2008 showroom floor, but that's never stopped the internets before. The first shaky-phone-cam footage of the game's made its way out of the show, and is now ready for your slack-jawed approval/hair-pulling disappointment. Ryu v Viper above, with loads more after the jump.

<![CDATA[Capcom's SFIV Booth @ AOU 2008]]> AOU kicks off in Tokyo tomorrow. Being the world's biggest arcade show, there'll be plenty of good stuff on show. Including some new Street Fighter game people seem to be all excited about. Capcom have passed out a few photos of their booth now, so you can see it without filthy, greedy patrons swarming all over it and dirtying the place up, so here, check em out. Oh, and "I'm Here To Smash You Up"? Best tagline ever.

<![CDATA[King Of Fighters XII Unveiled This Weekend]]> This weekend, the AOU 2008 expo goes down in Tokyo. Seeing as this is only the world's #1 arcade gaming show, you can bet some big-name games will be paraded around. Like King of Fighters XII, which will be shown publicly for the first time, albeit in video form (it sadly won't be playable). Little is known about this latest installment in the series, though it should be coming to the US in 2009 on both PS3 and 360. We've also heard that the game will be neither 2D nor 3D.

Street Fighter IV will also be making an appearance, most likely in playable form. Despite persistent reports that Osaka-based DIMPS (comprised of former SNK staff) are working on Capcom's flagship fighter, Capcom themselves are officially stating that the project is being developed in-house. Either way, should be a good weekend for fighter fans, who probably haven't partied this hard since the summer of '93.
