Played it at the Tokyo Anime Expo a few months back (Revealed at comic-con?), which meant that you could just casually walk up and play it. All the Behemoth guys were actually really amazed at the rapid prototyper booth across the way, but so was everyone.
You can't not laugh while playing this mode. Whenever I play this mode with people, there is nothing but laughter. Even when the ball you chucked ricochets and kills you instead.
By the looks of this game, it seems kinda bland. I'm not trying to bash Paladin or Fulp at all. I mean, kudos to them and their games and work. But this seems like it's lacking something. Maybe it's the lack of memorable characters, or maybe they are getting to that. I'm sure after time it will get better, but right now it just seems to be a bit of a lackluster title.
I was hoping for a single-player focused game, but I can't deny how fun that looks! I don't know if anyone else agrees here, but are your price expectations different for a multiplayer-focused game? I will be extremely reluctant to buy Game 3 if it meets or exceeds $15.
Lets hope that they have learnt their lesson from the completely broken online in Castle Crashers as this looks far more dependent on multiplayer, and would therefore be not quite as forgivable. The game does however look perfect to play with friends, and will hopefully find the same amount of success as their previous game leading to a bit more variety in online gaming (ie something other than an FPS) for the 360, and no doubt for the PS3 also.
@simplyPARTICLE: My concern is that it's too multi-player dependent for us friendless Internet hermits to fully enjoy the game as a single player experience. That won't stop it from being a great party game, but I think the world has enough party games to last a life time. I wish Behemoth would have just made a straight platformer with this as a tacked on multi-player option.
This looks fun. I had to keep watching the videos I saw earlier. I had no clue what was going on in the "Soul Snatcher" game type, but then I saw a video for "Grab the Gold" which was much easier to infer the objectives.
STOP IGNORING HE WII!!! I KNOW YOU CAN PUT CASTLE CRASHERS AND "GAME 3" ON THE SYSTEM!!!
PAY SOME ATTENTION TO WIIWARE PLEASE !!!
YOU MAKE ME AND MY WII SAD!!!
Until they fix CC, then I will wait. CC was a great game, never can play it with friends due to horrible net code. When they fix that, then I will look at this.
Clearly, that robot is crying because he is being forced to sell his last chaos emerald to support his many red-eyed robot children. I, for one, am very excited to play Economic Downturn Android.
You mean, Mr.Crescente, "that it has the same artstyle as the earlier games"
Sure, consistency is nice, but as the indie-developers they are, they are surprisingly uncreative when deciding upon the artistic direction of the games.
@Moral_Avenger: After the third time doing the exact same thing, yes. I don't mean compared to other games. I mean compared to their own games.
It's like if Capcom made all their games looking like Okami. Sure, they'd all be visually stunning, but you'd stop getting impressed by it pretty fast.
@ShadowOdin, representing the people of Malmö, Sweden: I don't think that comparing Capcom and The Behemoth is even remotely accurate. Considering the size and scope of a company of Capcom's stature, they have leagues of artists working hard to come up with the visually stimulating titles like Okami.
@wheelis: @CoyoteGamer: Despite what you may think, it's not a big deal at all. It's not like the same guy can do two different styles. There's ton of indie-developers out there whose games do not look so incredibly similar.
But sure, they can keep some sort of theme to their games if they want, but they should call it something then. Otherwise their entire company will be seen as the company that can only produce games that looks this way. That is the impression I am getting from these guys.
And sure, it might still be good and all for everyone, but once they hit the fifth game? or even tenth? And everyone has looked like this?
It's not a bad look, but they really ought to try something different. I think that's how they wanted to be looked at.
@ShadowOdin, representing the people of Malmö, Sweden: Well frankly, being known as 'the guys who use this particular art style' is lightyears better than being known as 'the guys who do lame-ass WW2/whatever FPSs that always use the same god damn shades of brown'.
So you can shove your Big Studios up your ass, for all I care.

Crazy shit kept happening. I remember pulling him along the ground instead of focusing on the ball.
It's a mode I don't mind loosing, because the real treasure is playing it and the competition itself, not who won.

If Sony would add DLC of characters from their IPs, the PS3 could have it's "Super Smash Bros."! Could you imagine Kratos in the game?!

Nintendo needs to encourage other developers to try WiiWare, like "The Behemoth".
