Agetec's upcoming Women's Volleyball Championship is regrettably classy, a harsh reminder that it may be a long time before we see another tasteless bikini-riddled volleyball title that can compete with Team Ninja's DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball in terms of trash.

The respectable PlayStation 2 sim ships to North America in August. We seriously doubt that vulgar camera angles or unreasonably skimpy beachwear will be added by then. An unfortunately tame press release is after the gallery.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL SPIKED TO NORTH AMERICA

Agetec’s Definitive PlayStation®2 system Volleyball Game Releases in August

SUNNYVALE, CA – June 13, 2008 – Agetec, Inc. today announced its upcoming game, Women’s Volleyball Championship, for the Sony PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Women’s Volleyball, which features six venues from around the world, will be released in August 2008, and promises to be the most accurate representation of the sport ever presented on a gaming console.

"Women’s Volleyball brings the intense action of professional volleyball to the gaming community," said Spike. "Professional volleyball produces some of the best athletes in the world and it's high time someone introduced a great video game that reflects that."

Women’s Volleyball is as fast-paced and grueling as the real thing, and perfectly captures the passion and excitement of the sport. Play as one of twelve countries battling their way to the top of the ranks, or create your own team of pros to take on the rest.

“A key feature in Women’s Volleyball is players get a chance to create and train their own team. If players want their volleyball players to have certain qualities, this game allows them to customize their players to their liking,” says Mark Johnson, producer at Agetec. “Another great feature of the game is that the volleyball players are affected by real life conditions like exhaustion and dominant hand, adding an unprecedented level of realism to the game.”

<![CDATA[Agetec Makes DS Owners LOL]]> Are you ready to LOL? Agetec is bringing a new game to the Nintendo DS this May that is exclusively local mutiplayer! LOLing yet? Yes, the name of the game is LOL, and here's how it plays. One of the players in the room writes up a crazy challenge on their DS, sets a time limit, and then the other players in the room use words and pictures to answer the challenge, with the whole group voting on the winner who then goes on to the next challenge. It sounds like it could be a ton of fun...granted you have a bunch of friends who each own a DS and regularly get together all at once. Sounds like it could be fun to play at parties, but then again you could just do the same thing with scraps of paper and a timer and you wouldn't have to spend money on anything other than pens. I just cannot see a local multiplayer exclusive working over here. Remember Ping Pals? Yeah. Me neither.

AGETEC TO MAKE NINTENDO DS OWNERS LOL

The Craziest Handheld Game Ever is Coming This May

SUNNYVALE, CA - March 14, 2008 - Agetec, Inc today announced that it will be releasing LOL for Nintendo DS™ this May. A unique, free-form gaming experience, LOL's motto says it best: "If the game is boring, then you are boring."

"We decided not to include a single player mode in the game because that would defeat the purpose. This game was created to be a social game that allows you interact on and off Nintendo DS with your friends," said Mark Johnson, the producer. "LOL concentrates on the comedic joy of using the imagination of everyone in the room."

"LOL is a game with endless possibilities that can be played for hours and hours of nonstop entertainment," said Hiro Fukuoka, producer at Agetec. "As long as you are a fun-loving person with a little bit of an imagination, there should be no reason you find LOL to be anything less than a great time with your friends. It maximizes your creative abilities and puts a fun twist to it."

LOL is played by one of the players making a challenge in writing to the others. The crazier the challenge, the more fun everyone will have. The person who delivered the challenge chooses an appropriate time limit, and everyone has to answer the challenge on their touch screen however they see fit - with words, pictures, or whatever comes to mind. The host reveals the answers, and everyone votes on a winner who will then decide on the challenge for the next round. Always different and a blast to play every time, LOL will, as its name implies, make everyone laugh out loud.

<![CDATA[Learn Music On Your DS - Rhythm 'N Notes]]> While I can pick up a guitar or sit down at a piano and work my way through rudimentary renditions of just about anything, I've never managed to learn how to read music. It's one of those things I really regret not getting around to. There may be hope for me on the horizon however, for Agetec is releasing the educational music game Rhythm 'N Notes on the DS this fall.

Rhythm 'N Notes aims to teach players the fundamentals. Reading music and identifying complex chords on the piano as well as keeping time and advanced rhythmic patterns while banging on your drum. It really does sound like a perfect solution to my particular problem, even if it does feature a main character with stag beetle pincers on his head. Either way, I'm glad the DS's educational potential is starting to get tapped outside of Japan. Learning is fun!

Agetec's Rhythm 'N Notes To Strike Chord With Nintendo DS Handheld Players This Fall

Real Music Training In The Palm Of Your Hand

SUNNYVALE, CA - June 1, 2007 - Agetec, Inc. announced today that they will be releasing Rhythm 'n Notes for the Nintendo DS handheld game console this fall. This unique title offers tonal and rhythmic music training in the form of entertaining piano and drumming games. No matter what your musical background or tastes, Rhythm 'n Notes is for you!

A perfect mixture of fun and education, Rhythm 'n Notes has something to offer gamers and musicians of all ages. A wide variety of note lessons encourages players to recognize and identify not only notes but also complex chords. Rhythm exercises teach and test the fundamentals of keeping time as well as advanced rhythmic patterns. Starting lessons initiate the beginner from start to finish while advanced levels keep experts on top of their game. Open practice mode allows players to familiarize themselves with all notes and chords, both by name and sound.

"Educational games that are truly fun are hard to come by," said Mark Johnson, Producer at Agetec, Inc. "Rhythm 'n Notes gets it right with addictive, enriching play."

There is a mix of gameplay elements as players learn the fundamentals of music composition. Drumming consists of actual tapping on the DS touchpad with the stylus to the beat of the rhythm in order to succeed. When it comes time to tickle the ivories, then a good ear is needed to match the proper tones. Work your way through all the levels and unleash your inner maestro!
