This isn't 1998, Microsoft, nor the set of Frasier. Thankfully, Capcom are on the case, and with Crecente in mind will be releasing pirate costumes.

Sure, there's a marketing tie-in to wade through first. After all, Capcom have copies of Age of Booty to promote with this stuff. But that can be swiftly overlooked because, well, these are pirate costumes.

They'll be out next Wednesday, March 25.

<![CDATA[PS3 Age Of Booty Gets Trophies And A Trial]]> Capcom just dropped us a line to let us know that the PlayStation 3 version of their real-time strategy pirate game Age of Booty has been updated with trophy support and a playable demo.

PlayStation 3 owners of Capcom's Age of Booty finally have something to show for all of their hard work with the introduction of trophy support for the game, first promised back in October in order to soften the blow of the game being delayed for a month.

Along with trophy support comes a playable demo of the game, now available on the PlayStation Store, so PS3 owners who've been on the fence since the game was released back in November finally get a chance to try it out before handing over $9.99 their hard-earned real money points.

<![CDATA[Age Of Booty Sets Sail In October]]> Capcom's upcoming real-time strategy game makes a booty call on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network next month as Capcom announces the release dates for Age of Booty. The XBLA version will be available for download on the 15th of October, with the PSN version arriving a day later. They'll also be releasing the game on PC via Direct2Drive, Digital River, Metaboli, Impulse, Steam, and others shortly thereafter. Prices are $10 across the board, which of course equals 800 Microsoft Points once translated into Xbox 360 inconvenience currency.

Demos for all three versions will be available on the day of release. I'd throw in some pirate jargon here, but I need to rest up a month or two after Talk Like A Pirate Day. Wait, think I got something - Avast. There, happy?

<![CDATA[Jeff Gerstman and Capcom Get Plowed and Play Age of Booty]]> Get drunk and play video games? GREAT idea!! Why didn't I think of that? At least Jeff Gerstmann and Brad Shoemaker at Giant Bomb slugged back the rum with Capcom's Age of Booty dev team, instead of the more antisocial drinkin'-alone thing. The two sides paired up with each other in a plunderin' and drinkin' contest, with the losers sucking back a half-bottle of Captain Morgan's. Yarrrrgh indeed. Results on the jump.

Gerstmann teamed with Capcom's Adam Boyes, Shoemaker took Capcom's Dave Witcher. Gerstmann-Boyes pwned Shoemaker-Witcher in both their first battle and the rematch, netting those two poor bastards an entire bottle of Captain Morgan's. Then Gerstmann and Boyes went head to head and fought to a draw, meaning they got a quarter-bottle of rum in their bellies. The scene then devolved into utter mayhem, as you can well imagine. A PR guy was there to make sure it didn't get too out of hand, like the way the CIA sends spies to the operating room whenever one of theirs gets gassed and goes under the knife. No trade secrets betrayed but ... yeef ... they stuck more with slurring points than talking points.

The video isn't embeddable, so you have to visit Giant Bomb to check it out. It's worth it, both for the Sir Mix-a-Lot references in the review (methinks it was written while still bluto) and Brad's hilarious nothankyou.jpg of more rum, pre-passout.

<![CDATA[Capcom's Plunder Gets A Name Change]]> Capcom once had a game called Plunder. Pirate game, kind of like Settlers of Catan, only with swashbuckling. Due for release on XBLA, PSN and PC. I say once, however, because while the game itself is still coming, it's had an enforced name change. Seems something else had already trademarked the name Plunder, forcing Capcom to rename the game Age of Booty. Yes. Age of Booty. Bringing the number of expected E3 games featuring the word "booty" to two. Can't wait for the inevitable booty-off.
