The series will be released on Nintendo's WiiWare service, with Ace Attorney out in Japan on December 15 (and going for 900 Points). It'll be followed by Justice for All (January 26) and Trials and Tribulations (February 23), both of which will cost a little more at 1200 points.

Finally, on March 16, the fifth case of Ace Attorney - which can only be found in the DS version of the game - will be released separately, for 300 Points. And if it's being released separately, guess that means these are ports of the PC version. Which makes sense.

No word yet, obviously, on a Western release. Stay tuned.

<![CDATA[Ace Attorney Limited Edition Is Fit For A Tea Party]]> Miles Edgeworth, star of upcoming Ace Attorney title Gyakuten Kenji, is a more...fashionable man than Phoenix Wright. Hence the purple suit. And the limited edition game featuring leather cases and a tea cup.

Yes, hammering home the point that Edgeworth is half-Prince, half-Victorian gentleman, Capcom's limited edition bundle for Gyakuten Kenji (the game, not the hardware bundle we've already shown you) includes an orchestral soundtrack, a leather (or, at least, leather-looking) DS cartridge wallet, some other junk like portrait cards, and the game itself.

As a bonus, pre-order the game from the Japanese Capcom store and you'll get a Gyakuten Kenji tea cup. And not just any tea cup. A frilly, girly tea cup.

The pack is going for 9,490, and if you hadn't worked it out by now, yes, it's a Japan-only deal.

<![CDATA[Ace Attorney In Weekly Manga Form]]> Not only is new Ace Attorney title Gyakuten Kenji getting a DSi bundle, the game is also getting a serialized manga.

The Gyakuten Kenji comic will be debuting in weekly manga Shuukan Young Magazine, hitting newsstands on April 13. StarringAce Attorney characters Miles Edgeworth and Dick Gumshoe, the first serialized volume is 51 pages long.

The first volume is titled "Gyakuten no Costume" and takes place at a costume ball, where a murder has been committed. Kazuo Maegawa drew the manga, and the original story was penned by scribe Kenji Kuroda.

<![CDATA[The "Premium Edition" Ace Attorney DSi]]> Capcom and Nintendo have announced a new, "Premium Edition" DSi console, to be released in conjunction with upcoming Ace Attorney title Gyakuten Kenji.

It's out in Japan on May 28, and a bundle including a special DSi - well, a regular DSi with Ace Attorney stuff on it - along with a copy of Gyakuten Kenji will go for ¥23,940 (USD$240). Not as Ace Attorney-branded as many fans of the series may have hoped for, perhaps (no green leather & oak frame lawyer's table motif, guys?) , but Capcom/Nintendo obviously felt the need to keep things simple.

<![CDATA[Here Is Your (New) Official Ace Attorney Image Character]]> That's Shota Matsuda. You may know him, you may not. But if you like Ridley Scott movies, you probably know his father.

Reaching an international audience with Black Rain, Shota Matsuda's father Yusaku Matsuda was actually dying of bladder cancer while making the film. He passed away after completing Black Rain.

His son Shota has gone on to become one of Japan's more popular young actors — though he does seem to lack the kinetic energy of his father.

And now, he's the "image character" for Capcom's Gyakuten Kenji , the latest entry in its Ace Attorney series. Matsuda will be appearing in TV and print ads for the game. Unlike other Ace Attorney titles, this point-and-click style title stars Miles Edgeworth and Dick Gumshoe.

About the DS title, Matsuda said, "Personally, I love the Ace Attorney series. I'm incredibly happy to be picked as the image character for the latest installment. This entry is different from previous titles, and I want to let everyone know the appeal of Gyakuten Kenji."

<![CDATA[Phoenix Wright Does Not Object To Episodic Gaming]]> Phoenix Wright is coming back to the PC. And not just coming, but coming in many, many pieces, as it's been announced that the first three GBA titles (which have already seen limited releases on PC in Japan) of the series are to be broken up into a steady stream of episodic titles. The first one lands next week, and will be free (as will the first chapters of the second and third GBA titles), with all remaining chapters costing ¥120 (around USD$1). That's for each chapter: to buy every chapter of a whole Ace Attorney game will cost you about ¥1920 (USD$19). No idea whether, like the DS versions, these will have an English-language track, but I guess we'll find out on March 18 when the first episode's due.

<![CDATA[Europe Being Courted With Apollo Justice]]> apollojustice2.jpgFor all you Europeans who "objected" to not having Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, fear not. May 9 is the magic day that justice will be delivered and you, too, can have the sequel to the popular Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. You'll be able to judge for yourself whether this game will live up to its predecessor, or if this game is the death sentence of the series (okay, that's not fair, it's meant to be a great game, but there aren't any really good puns for "this game is excellent, you should all go and try it").

<![CDATA[Street Fighter IV Confirmed]]> What could be better than Capcom bringing back Bionic Commando? How about Street Fighter IV? Games Radar is reporting from the Capcom Gamer's Day in London that the 4th game in the series has been officially confirmed. A stylized trailer of Ken and Ryu fighting was shown, but no actual gameplay footage, and while development has started the game is still more than a year away for whatever platform it ends up coming out on, Still, we can all rest easy that it is indeed on the way.

Along with this amazing news, Capcom also announced Lost Planet for the PS3, a new Ace Attorney game for the Nintendo DS featuring and new main character, and an all-new sci-fi action adventure game called Dark Void. It takes a special kind of company to wait 20 years from the release of the original game to finally get to number four in the series. I can't wait for the year 2012, when we'll be playing Super Street FIghter IV Hyper Mega Hologram Remix. Yum.

<![CDATA[Apollo Justice, The New Ace Attorney?]]> With Phoenix Wright largely out of the picture in the fourth Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney in the West) legal adventure, Nintendo DS gamers are going to have to welcome a new protagonist to the series. Already a smash hit in Japan, Gyakuten Saiban 4 features Housuke Odoroki as the lead attorney, with Wright limited to a cameo role, meaning Capcom USA has a marketing challenge on its hands.

Enter Apollo Justice! If a recent filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office uncovered by NeoGAFer Aokage is being interpreted correctly, not only does Gyakuten Saiban 4 have a better chance of coming stateside, Apollo may just be the series' new star.

While not set in stone, it looks likely that if Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney 3: Trials and Tribulations is a hit, Apollo Justice may be making his way to DS Lites in the not too distant future.

<![CDATA[Ace Attorney Five Announced]]>

Big hit in Japan DS title Gyakuten Saiban 4 (AKA "Ace Attorney 4") moved 250,000 copies during its first week on sale. This fall, Gyakuten Saiban 3 will be retitled as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations for North America, and the previous Phoenix Wright game was so popular that it sold out — Like you couldn't get a new copy for a while. So, you think Capcom would make another Ace Attorney? Do you really? According to Bloomberg, the third party developer recently announced Gyakuten Saiban 5. How risky! I bet one day they'll do a Gyakuten Saiban 6, a Gyakuten Saiban 7 and maybe even a Gyakuten Saiban 8.

<![CDATA[Gyakuten Saiban On Japanese TV]]>

Next week in Japan, Capcom is broadcasting a short 5-10 television mystery. Not sure if it's life action, animated or just in-game footage. Viewers will try to solve the mystery, and the answer will appear on Capcom's site. Neat way to promote Gyakuten Saiban 4!

<![CDATA[Gyakuten Saiban 4, Half A Million Shipped!]]>

Gyakuten Saiban 4 is Capcom's most successful entry in Ace Attorney series to date. Since going on sale April 12th in Japan, a half a million copies have been shipped. When Gyakuten Saiban was previously localized into English with Phoenix Wright, the game was so popular and hard to get because Capcom didn't print enough copies. Even in an age when success is judged in Pokémon standards, Gyakuten Saiban 4 is a hit with no objections here.
