I wish people would stop calling Soccer Football, especially in an American version of a game. I really don't see much point in this game except to exploit licenses.
@Dakiero:
Except, you know, that trailer is for the European version of the game [hint, the european logos on the boxart, the european age rating shown at the start of the video, and the PAL written on the boxart at the end not obvious enough for you?], and in the UK, where the english version would be aimed, it IS called football.
@Dakiero: As Lozmaster says, this is a gamescon trailer, so it's designed to be aimed at the europeans - where Football was invented, and is... well you know, called FOOTBALL.
Sorry that the EUROPEAN company are gonna call their game something that's not Americanised. God, maybe Ubi should've rung you and checked to see if it was okay for them to go and make a game or something =/
Woohoo! Another games convention! I honestly am awaiting things like these...Hopefully to learn and hear about new news.
Come to think of it, anyone expecting any megatons? I know it's mostly reserved for E3 and TGS but one can hope...
Especially seeing as the 2009 year is looking barren compared to past years and to 2010.
Hopefully they'll show more of WET. It didn't look to good the first few times a saw it, but at least it has Eliza Dushku. She's pretty good at playing psychotic killers, anyway.
The fact that Bethesda is publishing it raises my hopes a little too.
@octalass: I'm of a similar opinion. The Dev though has mostly been responsible for ports and for movie to game tie ins. And is called A2M (in their logo) :/
This is something I'll wait to see what others have to say about it. Also when it MSRPs here for £39.99 (that's £10 from the usual price) it does seem a bit like they don't have a lot of faith in it.
Brink's not got much press despite it looking fantastic. OPMUK did a feature on it last month and it impressed the hell out of me with drop-in drop-out multiplayer within the campaign, the Timesplitters-esque art style among other things. I also like that you create a character for either the revolution or the establishment for the campaign and when you play online, you automatically join that side in your typical deathmatches et al. The Mirror's Edge style "freedom of movement" is pretty cool too.
@MCX405: From what I've seen of the game it actually will be quite good if it can deliver on most major counts that they're working on. Also they're not too far from where I live.
"Harry Potter with Soccer" is exactly how I described it when I saw the preview at E3.
I said something like - "Oh hey, it kind of looks like Harry Potter. .... OK, it looks EXACTLY like Harry Potter."
That's really all I got out of the entire presentation. That and the impression that it was just some goofy kid's game.
After reading this, it sounds like a glossier version of EA's Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup. So, my initial impression hasn't really changed at all.
For those of you to young to remember or don't know who the coach is, Pele is probably the best football player I've seen and was part of the incredible Brazilian team that played the beautiful game like no other in the 60's.

I wish people would stop being ignorant, but hey.

It's nice to have a woman's review of games, and she seems to review a wider variety of genres than the boys do.
(Like the Rabbids shirt; the thong, not so much)
