I'm sick of it. I want to nominate another video clip in its stead.

Now obviously, you're not going to get the exact same reaction from another pair of fresh-faced youngsters opening up their first major home console (not unless they're hamming it up, anyway). But perhaps you could have a non sequitur video that's only tangentially related to the holidays. Or video games for that matter.

Here's a few for your consideration.

First, the Japanese Zelda rap commercial. It's directly game-related, entertaining and doesn't even mention the holidays so persons who abstain from Christmas or what have you don't feel left out.

Second, President Obama and his talk with kids about Christmas and The Sims. Very much on-topic, if a bit hard to hear and there's a lot less screaming.

Finally, how about Easter Bunny hates You? Sure, it's not related to video games and it's the wrong holiday — but it's way more entertaining to watch than two kids flipping out over the Nintendo 64.

Got your own holiday YouTube recommendations? Hit me up in the comments — I'll be at my sister-in-law's house, pretending to not be Jewish. Happy Holidays everyone!

<![CDATA[Shotgate: Portal Clone For The (Yes!) Commodore 64]]> Get me Valve on the phone. Tell Lombardi that the Portal prequel dev team can go home - their services are no longer required.

And yes, that Portal fan mod can sling its hook too. The Commodore 64 remake 'Shotgate' has rendered both games utterly pointless.

Yes, it's a Portal clone for the C64. No, it's not in 3D and - yes - it does look quite like that Flash tribute from last year.

This little fella was made in just 4K of C64 assembler for the Mini Games Comp 2008. If you like the look of it, the programmer is actually selling it in C64 cartridge form in a limited edition run of 20. Buy now to avoid/ensure disappointment.

<![CDATA[New Ubi Site Launches, Secrets Abound]]> jsf.JPG

A new Ubisoft site popped up today that seems to be for some yet to be named title. Mousing through the site you come across a number of audio files that seem to indicate that the game is set sometime in the future. There are also biblical references, including to Revelations 6:4 which reads: "And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat theron to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword."

The hidden forums on the site are already buzzing that this could be some sort of post-apocalyptic or just pre-apocalyptic game. The fact that the site references Ghosts, Splinter Cells and other special ops groups has the posters there hoping that this is some sort of mega-game that ties all of the Tom Clancy's franchises together into one final title. Sounds like a really cool idea.

Could this be Firehawk?

Oh and the tags for the site are: "jsf28555833-80604722, rev 64, rev64, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, GRAW, Clancy".

We know most of these already and Rev64 is obviously a tag for the revelations citation. My guess is that the JSF in the tag, and also mentioned in the sound files, refers to the Joint Strike Fighter program, a real-world program that develops advanced war aircraft. Hmm, sounds more and more like Firehawk.

Go on over dig around and then report back here, lets get to the bottom of this.
