Truth is they nailed the game the first time and now, sequel by sequel, they're just adding more and more stuff, wich i don't complain being here though i find the posse is pretty pointless and there's nothing really new in the trailer.
I'm probably going to buy the game like i did for skate 1 and 2, i hope at least they are building a new city. #skate

This is kind of upsetting. It seems like they are going toward the tony hawk direction. I'm pretty sure a large majority of people who play this game, including me, don't really care much for the story and just love the play mechanics. Both skate 1 and 2 are the most played games on the PS3, but I probably finished less than 30% of the story on each. I would much rather have new features added such as improved mini ramp skating, etc. rather than have some weird team aspect built into the story. Doesn't this seem like proving grounds where you can pick what type of skater you are, which was ridiculous. I feel like they should take some risks and change some things about the gameplay if they want to stay fresh, not by adding some weird twists to the story. This is of course unless they want to bleed the series dry and make a lot of money (which it is starting to seem like the case). I'll be buying this regardless however! Just hope they add more things than a team aspect and darkslides/underflips. #skate

@mook8515: Darkslides have been confirmed for Skate 3. Don't worry about the team aspect, they are just adding integrated social aspects to the game to support what the skate community was already doing.

Hopefully that means moveable objects in online play as well as live replays but nobody knows about those yet. #skate

after watching the trailer, it looks really bland and from what I see, it seems a bit like this;

Skate: awesome game, innovative new skateboarding feel.
Skate 2: what Skate should of been but mainly a copy and paste
Skate 3: Copy and paste of Skate 2 but with gangs...i mean "teams" #skate

I see a lot of similar animations here, which bums me out. Looks like there's going to be some more recycling, once again. I hope that they've fixed the k-grinds to where they look realistic too, as they look so damn sloppy in Skate 2, where they actually looked proper in Skate 1. And I really hope that they've gotten rid of the nasty rasta beanies, and put some damn skullies in there. Yes, this all seems negative, but I play the ever loving shit out of Skate 2, and then some.

@d_r_e: I'm also bummed to see that they're still integrating downhill racing into Skate. Cougar Mountain in Skate 2 was the biggest waste of space, and I don't know anyone who enjoyed racing down it for shits and giggles. #skate

another note, i hope the game looks as good as the screens suggest. i dont know why but from skate 1 to skate 2 the visuals took a bit of a dip. im excited that they are bumping it up for 3 #skate

@zåɳzißårléɠёпȡ: Unfortunately I only own it on the Xbox 360. Sorry! I agree, the game never gets tiring at all. I still find new spots, which blows me away. There was something sleek and realistic looking with the graphics on Skate 1, and Skate 2 seemed to drop that a bit for more of a gritty / unpolished look.

The only thing I actually enjoyed about Skate was the bail-scores. Well, that and the downhill skating.

The world just seemed a little to realistic, in the sense that over-the-top jumps were practicly impossible. It's why i refrained from buying the sequel, and i'll scout the terrain before buying this.

If anything has any positive info on the game world of part 3, feel free to enlighten me #skate

@rainofwalrus: It seems like that's part of what this trailer was built around. The team aspect was the overarching theme but whenever they were skating lines and doing challenges, the waiting players were always involved in some kind of emote action and were present as spectators. It's really what gave the overarching theme meaning and the trailer itself, life. It will be disappointing if it isn't in the final game. #skate

@Smidget: That's the only annoying thing about Skate 1 and 2 is that most players don't just chill out and watch each other skate.

Everybody gets tunnel vision on their own trick instead of ad hoc co-op seshing a spot. #skate

@Smidget: I hear you. I fear they may have taken "artistic license" with the player-as-crowd emotes. Especially the "sitting down, chillin."

Kinda the same way the Skate 1 trailers and dailyvideos had camera angles you couldn't use ingame.

the same camera-kit that was later sold as DLC for Skate 2.

But then I realised I would have to explain to her what kanji was and then what a pictogram was and then I looked at her again and I thought I would then have to explain what writing was and so I didn't bother but discretely pointed it out to my girlfriend to see if she could manage to giggle quietly.
